Hi MSM, hope you don't mind me nosying in here - I'm a lurker on the community board "not yet engaged" thread and enjoy your blog - your wedding plans sound beautiful and I'm really enjoying following your journey along :) I'm sure there are lots of other lurkers too but wanted to pop in and introduce myself.

It is!! Just so unexpected...I figured my bonus in June would be the start of saving for a "someday" wedding...:rotfl: I have catching up to do!

Found this inspiration board...not to much yellow and green out there!

green is very easy! (says the lady who's favorite color is green) look under jade too

My girls got their dresses at Overstock and my DD's was from Alfred Angelo

A bride gave me a tip ..Pick flowers in season for March..it makes it less expensive.

ETA - we didn't have to pay a deposit, so I don't know how this works..if you have the places "held" without the deposit, what happens if someone wants those spots and is ready to sign a contract??!!!

I am not sure...I hope that they would call me and tell me, but I'm really not sure. Df was in the process of building a motorcyle from "scratch" and thinks he might just sell off the parts so we don't have to wait until June to put down our deposit.

It does sound like a good idea to have a solid contract. You do not want to do all this planning and come to find out someone else got it!

I am really loving those colors. The invitations are my favorite. :lovestruc Such a good idea when you are going to have a lot of information in them. The earrings are so pretty...especially the pricey ones lol. I am sure you can find earrings very similar to them that are fake:)

I know...Eric really wants to book the photographer too!

So I just found out I have to go to NYC at the end of May for work so we made an appointment at KLEINFELDS!! I really don't want to spend their minimum of $1800 on a dress but I am really excited to try on and I guess you never know!!

$1800 is a minimum...dear God that is expensive!!!:scared1:

I think green and yellow is a beautiful colour setting. You could save alot of money on table centrepieces (if you're having floral centrepieces) by just using greenery with yellow ribbons/vases/water pebbles etc instead of paying for yellow flowers. For example, on that inspiration board it showed the trays of glasses decoration with vines. Perhaps contrast green centrepieces with yellow favours/table settings or yellow candles depending on the time of day?

Were those dresses you showed earlier from Kleinfeld?

I know!! On the appointment form it said our gowns START at $1800:scared:

Oh that's a good idea! I will have to check out some centerpieces like that!! And none of the dreses I have posted were from Kleinfelds...my mom mentioned doing something for me for the wedding (we are paying for it ourselves mostly)...but I don't know if I want a dress that expensive!! I'd be so afraid I would do something to it!!

If their $1800 dress is like David's $99 dresses that they showed me..yikes!

I watch that "Say Yes to the Dress" show and most of their dresses are $4000 and up..I hate to sound like a party pooper, but if you aren't serious about a dress there, think about it..Those dress consultants work on a commission and if you really don't have the intention of buying a dress there, they have lost the chance to sell someone else a dress.
$2000 for a dress when you are on a tight budget doesn't make sense...that is $2000 you could have for floral or food..($1800 doesn't include alterations or undergarments)

I am sure I will get flamed for this, but I am just trying to be honest..I LOVED the dress I tried on for $2000 but that was more than my ceremony cost! I am just trying to be practical..if you mom wants to do something for the wedding, let her give you the deposit so you can insure that your dream site is available!
