Totally agree with re-training as this is something I may have to think about in the future if this carries on. Something strange happened today. I had applied for a job at the BBC and they sent me an email saying that I still had one section left to fill in and could I fill it in - sounds more promising than anything else.
A friend of mine was a trader at Bear Stearns. After he was made redundant he couldn't get another job in finance so re-trained as a tiler and is loving it. He was offered a job straight away.
Still being out of work has it's benefits. I went into London today with my mum and nephew and we attended a free organ recital at a church. On the first Friday of every month they 'air the organ' it was very good as I've never attended one before. The first tune the organist played with the Hallelujah Chorus which reminded my neph and I of the Carol Concert at Epcot. It was a lovely feeling as I've been so down lately and just thinking about the Carol Concert and the amount of times I've seen it made me feel alot better.
