I just booked my DD(10) and I a 2 week cruise to Hawaii leaving LA Dec.29. Now I'm wondering if I should leave Boxing Day (don't want to miss Christmas at home) and do Disneyland the 27th and 28th? I know how busy it will be but will it still be fun, or not worth the crowds? Also wondering if anybody has any tips on transportation from DL to San Pedro? Thanks.

Have you ever been at Christmastime? It is magical beyond belief. You may not get on every ride, but it is totally worth going!!!

Larina's right about the magic of the holidays, but I (being the crowd adverse person that I am) am wondering if you could add on a couple of days at Disney after your cruise? Crowds should be lower, but you'll be out of the holiday season and will likely miss the Haunted Mansion entirely (I think IASW should still be running - with the holiday overlay- then, at least it was last year).

the only thing about doing it after the cruise would be that all the holiday decorations and IASWH and HMH will be down....honestly, yes, its going to be horribly crowded but as larina said, its truly magical and if you follow the general rule of getting FP's as soon as they become available to you it might be worth it...so far, with carsland coming, DL has been less crowded so with that being said, it might work in your favor this year..what the heck..i say go for it!:thumbsup2

Thanks everybody, unfortunately the way the cruise falls she'll already be missing a week of school and I don't really want her to miss more than that. I'm thinking I would do one park each day - any opinions on which one on which day?

im not sure its going to matter one day or the other...the deluxe, So Cal and So Cal select will all be blocked out on those days so no worries there...and most people are taking vacation during christmas so no, i dont think it matters other than what you would rather do first:goodvibes
