He's making a full length (antique style) mirror on a stand for our 13 yr old DD. It's primarily cherry, but with tiger maple and purple heart accents and sliding dove tail purple heart joinery. It's huge. LOL

DD is probably one of the few girls that at 6 or 7, could go into a wood shop and identify purple heart (along with other hard woods).

I peeked at some of your other wood projects--I love the turned bowls. Turning cedar is impressive.

DH has some of his shop time up on ustream.

i took it as a challenge when allen lancer told me straight out that ceddar bowls were pretty much impossible due to cedars proclivity to burst when heated.. they tend to shatter when they over heat during sanding so i deviced a few ways to help cool th eblocks and speed up the turnings so they stay intact. i wish my dd would take more interest, but alas shes more into whats n myspace and her ipod than the wood on my tables

Good luck! I hope you sell as many as you can make. I'd love to see one in person.

just pine dust. we are at the stud wall stage of the powder room rebuild.

mikeeee

oh, and that looks awesome. i look fprward to seeing the sealed photos.

Froggie, this is so odd. You and my husband share the same name AND you have a proclivity to walnut dust up your noses.

Can you come and help my Jeff build the rest of my kitchen cabinets? He's making them out of mahogany and maple.

Walnut is so nasty to work with. When Jeff used to come in out of the garage at night after working on our DD's bed, he had that dust in his ears, eyes, nose, and in every nook and cranny you could imagine.

Beautiful work, BTW. Mind my asking what one of those sinks brings? You can PM me if you don't want to share outloud.
