am i the only one?

I don't step foot outside my house on Black Friday. I'm in my pajamas watching Christmas movies on TV and writing report cards. Now I'm taking a break to see what's happening on the DIS. :)

My mom went out shopping late last night and then again today and got some good deals but said she couldn't believe the amount of people out. She left Target and Walmart last night because she refused to wait on 4 hour lines.

Unless Theresa's something we REALLY need we stay home. I did send do to toys r us one year because there were several good sales and we knocked off every child on our list. Otherwise we will just look online if we need anything.

;) So Theresa varies from year to year what a fickle lady :wave2:

who boycotts Blech Friday? I refuse to partake of the insanity.

if i can't get it online or before Thanksgiving, we pretty much just don't get it.
anybody else?

It's not that I "boycott:" it, it's simply that I've have never ever found any deals that I haven't gotten a few weeks later for the exact same price or LOWER!!

I laugh hysterically when stores advertise "one day only". 10 years ago that may have been the case but now!! uh, uh. every single item I've purchased in the last 3 years I've gotten below the black friday price. Including 2 flat screen tv's (sams club) my Nikon dslr camera, which ironcially I got cheaper 2 years ago than the walmart black friday price advertised. :rotfl2: and two lap tops.
The only items I haven't gotten cheaper have been Apple products.

I did go out to sleepys today because I'm really in the market for a new mattress and they supposedly had 60% off on everything. well of course they were not having free shipping nor free set up and take away of the old mattress. so as usual that black friday 60% sale ended up not really being a sale. I passed.

Still in my pajamas.... I put up the Christmas Tree and watched way to much TV. No regrets.

I refuse to participate in the "black friday" insanity!! People become savages over material items and don't care what they have to do to get them, including killing someone ---- remember Wal Mart a few years ago?? People trampled the security guard to death over some freaking TVs and gaming systems????? Each of those people cannot say they didn't know they were STEPPING ON A HUMAN BEING. Freaking animals. I hope they enjoyed their material items while a family was burying their son/husband/father.

Nope, all my shopping is done with the exception of 2 small items for my daughter --- 1 of which I will get online the other I'll get next weekend --- and, of course, some stocking stuffers (easy enough to pick up here and there)

Tomorrow? I'll be working to pay for it all! Cash only this year, no overspending w/credit cards!!!!

How about today, when two people were shot in a Tallahassee WalMart parking lot over a parking spot!!! How freakin' crazy is that?

There is no discount that is worth getting shot over. NONE!

I'm either all out or all in. This year I was out, but I bought some stuff online. To me, it's only worth it to go for doorbusters if you're going to save several hundred dollars on things you would have bought anyway. Also, the doorbusters have to be name brand. I don't like those low priced but off brand or "made for black Friday" electronics.

My husband wanted to try to get a game at Wal-mart last night. We don't shop there normally but it was a really good deal....I dropped him off and tried to find a parking spot :rotfl2: 10 minutes later as I was still circling he called and said it was to crazy in there and to pick him up at the door! He knew it would be busy but he didn't think it would be that crazy. I went out this evening to find the Salvation Army Angel tree and I was able to pick up a few things for that on good sales. Stores were busy but not crazy. I'll be trying to finish that shopping this weekend.

Despite cajoling from my sister in law to join her at Kohls at o'dark thirty, I stayed in my cozy bed. We're making an attempt to buy whatever we can small and local (we have an awesome downtown we want to support) and what we can't, we'll buy online.

I'm the only one in my family that goes(they think I'm nuts) but I save so much and can give wonderful gifts:) Call me crazy:crazy2: but I have fun shopping in the middle of the night:cool1:

I don't go out either but then I don't even shop for Christmas period, all the family lives 900 miles away so gift cards or money works real well for us.
