Maybe it's just me, or maybe I was expecting something different, but I though Soarin' was pretty lame..................... :confused3

Nope, you're not the only one. My kids call it SNORIN' :rotfl:

You can add me to that list.

Just had to do it once while we were there last year, but that was enough for me. It was ok, but did'nt live up to anything like what I had expected after hearing all the hype.

I'll spend that extra hour this year waiting for another round on Mission Space or Test Track.

I have'nt been to EE yet, but will next week. If that follows suit I'm really going to be bummed !!

Ya know, I was surprised when they put Soarin' Over California (that's what it's called at DCA) at WDW.

I've been to Disneyland lots of times and have made a couple of trips since DCA opened. When we first rode Soarin', we thought it was one of the best rides Disney ever made. We had heard friends rave about it and we were equally impressed. It draws huge applause at the end everytime I go on it at DCA.

On the other hand, I've read here that some people who go on it in Florida aren't that impressed. Here's what I think is going on:

If you're a Californian, it makes you proud to see the most beautiful parts of your state portrayed in such a unique way. It makes you think, "Wow! This is my state. I live here!" It's also really cool to see all the places you've visited or even places that are near your home.

If you're visiting California and see the ride at DCA, it's also a neat experience. You recognize places you've been or are going to visit next. You're sort of in a "California state of mind" since you're vacationing there and the whole experience makes sense.

Now, if you live in or are visiting Florida, I can see how the ride may not feel so spectacular. It didn't make a lot of sense to me when I heard the entire ride would be transplanted to Florida. I thought it would be better if they had shot a Florida version or even a U.S. version. Even an international version would compliment the whole Epcot/international theme.

So, being a native Californian, I love Soarin'. I haven't yet ridden it at Epcot but will be doing so next month. I think, for some people, if the subject matter had more meaning or more universal appeal the ride might be more enjoyable. That's my 2 pennies!!! :)

It's a badly edited movie with a cool motion system that is worth about a 10 minute wait.

Actually, I enjoy the little ride. I don't understand though, why they did Soarin' over California instead of Florida? it would have made more sense. Helen

We LOVE Soarin!! We rode it last year for the first time and thought it was cool. We ended up riding 4 times!! Cant wait to ride it again this year- in about 25 DAYS!!! :thumbsup2

California has gorgeous mountains, deserts, and oceans. Florida has oceans...and the rest is swampland!

I LOVE Soarin' and go every time I'm at Epcot.

Nah, you're not the only one- but I love soarin'. It's my favorite at Epcot for sure.

Can I have your fastpasses? ;) :teeth:

I love Soarin as long as I can get a FP. Worth 10-15 minutes worth wait but not any more than that

I have to agree, we love Soarin, but maybe that's because we're "outdoorsy" kind of people, and love seeing all the nature. It's both mine and my fiancee's mom's favorite ride now, and we go on it now at least a few times a year.

Now, I would never wait 90 minutes to go on it, but Fastpass, that's another story :)

I'm a thrill ride lover, and I love Soarin. But it isn't a "thrill ride" and nobody should expect it to be. It has its own niche and it should be enjoyed it for what it is, not for what anyone wants it to be. Just my opinion.

I like that SNOARIN comment. I always just called it BOARIN.

Now that I have rode it, I now know that it isn't worth the 90 minute wait that I got to enjoy when I went on it.

On my last trip to EPCOT, one of my friends wanted to wait for it and I told him that we can ride it at home.

This is how you ride Soarin at home...

1. Download the video of the ride on youtube.com
2. Get a bar stool or a chair where your feet wont hit the ground.
3. Place the chair in front of the coumputer monitor.
4. Get a small electrical fan and plug it so that the air will blow at you when you sit in the chair.
5. Have a can of pine and orange scented air freshner by your side so you can recreate the smells of the pine trees and orange trees.
6. Play the movie on your computer and enjoy

That my friends is a bootleg Soarin.

Because they wouldn't budget for a new movie. And in reality, it should have been Soarin' over America, or around the world. There is no theme at the land that would necessitate it being about Florida, unlike where it came from - Disney's CALIFORNIA Adventure.

I didn't expect a thrill ride, but everyone raved about it so much, I thought it would be better. The Fastpass was sold out, and the standby line was 160 minutes, we had done everything else on EPCOT, so my sister INSISTED. We only waited 40 mins, but I didn't find it all that exciting. Mission space was great, but I won't ride that again.....sick as a dog!

I thought the ride was alright when I rode at DCA. But I also didn't think it merited all the hype that the ride gets. Perhaps it was the seats we had that colored my opinion -- I was in the back row center. I did enjoy the ride, but I don't think I would rush to get in line for it or waste a fastpass on it. To each their own, though.

DW and I really enjoy Soarin' as long as its a twenty-five minute wait or less. Something about that orange scent. I rode it once and my scent box must have been empty or something -what a bummer :( The one thing that drives me nuts about Soarin' is even with FP, twice it's taken us another twenty-five minutes to get on.
