Am I the only one who likes Parrot Cay

We all love Parrot Cay as well! That is my preferred choice for embarkation luncheon on the Wonder. I have not yet seen Carioca's in person but I was rather sad that they took the color and fun and made it black and white. Really??? I mean, isn't Animator's Palette on the Classics already black and white? We have always enjoyed the food served at Parrot Cay as much as the other MDR's.

Btw, LOVE, LOVE the idea of talking, singing tiki birds for Parrot Cay!!!:lovestruc

Another Parrot Cay lover. No matter how many days pre cruise we arrive, the weight of the world is lifted from your shoulders and the trip really starts when we sit down for our embarkation lunch at Parrot Cay. I do not care for Carioca's but was encouraged to see he bird carvings, column shutters and other décor was not removed, only painted over. Right now I am hoping beyond hope they leave her on the Wonder when she dry docks in 2016 just to have a little difference.
:tilt:

I love Parrot Cay. Always look forward to it for our embarkation lunch. I enjoy the theming and the colorful dishes and napkins they use in Parrot Cay.

Can you explain what you like about it for embarcation? Is it the same food as beach blanket? Thinking about trying it this go round but want to understand the differences. Last cruise it sometimes felt like we missed divining options because we just grabbed the closest....TIA!

Like the relax atmosphere. Server brings your drinks instead of having to get up and fight the passangers next to the drink stations. Some of the characters come around throughout the dining time, see my prevous post in this thread.

We have been on 6 six cruises and we always look forward to the embarkation buffet at Parrot Cay. We love the decor and the vibe it gives off. Listening to the birds as you walk in is so nice and different from the other MDR's. We were sadden to see it was removed from the Magic when they did their renovation. We are hoping that they leave Parrot Cay on the Wonder when she has her renovation. We love having Pirate Night at PC. Carioca's just does not compare.

My Family of three, my mom, dad, and I love Parrot Cay. We HAVE TO eat at Parrot Cay as our first lunch right after we board the Disney Wonder. We have never eaten at the 'Beach Blanket Buffet after we board the ship. We love the little details in Parrot Cay. Plus, Parrot Cay used to have the BEST DESSERT EVER. My mom and I loved the Créme Brulée Cheesecake. We wish they would bring the delicious special amazing cheesecake back!

I'm one that's "Not" a fan of Parrot Cay. I think mostly because it's the "least magical" of the MDR's. Now if we could "sing along with the birdee's" it would be a real keeper. Not a full on "Enchanted Tiki Room" show, but at least have the birds be animatronic (moving). Wood Blocks (cut outs) and Caribbean colors does not a DCL themed restaurant make.

I loved the Coconut Shrimp that they used to have in there for an appetizer.

I always see so much negativity with regard to Parrot Cay. I consider myself a restaurant snob. My DH and I dine in high end restaurants all the time in Manhattan. I think overall the food on the cruise is what it is. I do have to say I really like Parrot Cay. The decor and vibe feels like vacation to me. I enjoy the menu way more than Animators Pallete. Am I alone with this opinion?

parrot cay needs talking tiki (okay talking parrot cay appropriate) birds and plants in it - then i would love it!

ajmomouse, I am in the same boat as you (pun intended) on Parrot Cay. I find plenty of food that I like at Parrot Cay and like the quality. But I also think; that it being a Disney cruise how hard would it be to add animated parrots and other animals surrounding you in the restaurant. So I also think like dsamycat, it could more fun.
