I always see so much negativity with regard to Parrot Cay. I consider myself a restaurant snob. My DH and I dine in high end restaurants all the time in Manhattan. I think overall the food on the cruise is what it is. I do have to say I really like Parrot Cay. The decor and vibe feels like vacation to me. I enjoy the menu way more than Animators Pallete. Am I alone with this opinion?

No. There are others who like Parrot Cay. Certainly there are those who don't like Carioca's now. As well as those who don't care for any of the other MDRs on the various ships.

I kinda like Parrot Cay, because it feels like the Caribbean vacation that most of us are taking. I'm not enamored that there are 2 "fancier" MDRs on the new ships and no "vacation" themeing.

parrot cay needs talking tiki (okay talking parrot cay appropriate) birds and plants in it - then i would love it!

Maybe that is why I like it!!! I loved the tiki birds when I was a little girl! It kind of reminds me of that!!!

I love it there. I agree feels like vacation! Requested it as my repeat restaurant on my last 4 night cruise

I love Parrot Cay. Always look forward to it for our embarkation lunch. I enjoy the theming and the colorful dishes and napkins they use in Parrot Cay.

I don't mind it either. I've also seen a ton of comments about how bad the pirate menu is but it's one if my favorites. Just wishing that menu would be offered in Alaska!

Well Parrot Cay was my least favorite MDR and I wasn't a fan of Carioca's either LOL - that dining room just must be cursed for me. For me, vacation means dining in a way I would never eat at home, and while the other two MDRs represent that, I thought Parrot Cay was kinda tacky, and the menu didn't impress me much.

I guess for the same reason I d

I am another one who really likes Parrot Cay! But I am also crazy (according to the popular opinion here on the DIS ;)) and loved Enchanted Garden.

There recently was a thread called "Unpopular Opinions" and it was fun to read as it seemed that for everything that appears to be the general consent on the DIS, there were plenty of people who disagreed with the popular opinion.

DW and I like PC very much.
We enjoy the food and the embarkation lunch.
On an embarkation lunch at PC:
Had the camera on the table, DW had Goofy come up behind her, I saw him coming, picked up the camera to take a picture; Goofy reaches past DW and tried to put pepper on her dessert. What a look on DW's face.

Another Parrot Cay lover here! We'll be on the Wonder in a couple of weeks and it is the meal I am most looking forward to. The decor is fine, but it is the menu that I love. They used to serve my all-time-favorte DCL dessert, the lemon merinque tart. It seems that that is now gone, but I am looking forward to giving the coconut pineapple cake a spin. :)

I am among those who didn't care for Carioca's. I loved the decor/theme, but the menu was just okay to me. To be honest, decor doesn't matter that much to me. I'm all about the food. I've eaten in some pretty "ugly" places that served some of the best food I've ever had.

Another Parrot Cay lover here! Just off the Wonder and I love the tropical feel and the sounds of the birds chirping as you walk down the hall into the restaurant. I thought Cariocas was meh, nothing special.
