What is your job title? Are you a corporate officer?

My job title is Cast Member. Are you a Corporate Officer?

Oh, and in answer to your original question, it appears that yes, you ARE the only one who is offended by the announcements in spanish.

Now you are being offensive too. You seem intelligent enough to know that I am not the only one offended by political correctness, yet you choose to dishonestly conclude that I am the only one.

For someone who insulted me by calling me a troll, you seem to be feeding me a lot.

Okay, truth be told I find this entertaining. I didn't think someone with such strong convictions would be so thin skinned.

Mikethern, if you read my reply, I said that "it appears". And political correctness bothers me too. However, I personally don't see this as PC. To me, it is just good business.

Your post was designed to be offensive. Show some class and admit it. Not very Disney-like.

And yes, it is good business. Profits before patriotism evidently.

No. I will show some class and not rise to the bait. If you read the posts I have made on the various topics on this board, you will see one common thread...I treat people with respect and try to help them when I can. I am perfectly willing to let you bait me (i.e. asking me if I'm a corporate officer) but the bottom line remains that I still don't see this issue as a case of Disney being PC.

And my statement was an observation that nobody as yet has come to your defense.

This is a ridiculous waste of space and certainly not in accord to proper behavior on these boards.

Mikethern: The answer to your question is YES-you seem to be the only one who is annoyed by announcements in Spanish.

Now, can someone please close this thread? I am finding it very hostile and inappropriate.

Thank you.

I've already sent a PM to one of the moderators asking them to lock this thread.

This thread was not intended to become hostile. I was reponding to offensive remarks.

Where are you from? I'm sure theres a skinhead convention or KKK rally you would enjoy much more than WDW.

And being banned after only 25 posts would be a helluva feat to brag about.

I notice that you do not seemed offended by DizzKneeGeek's offensive remarks.

To answer the OP - yes apparently.:teacher:
So, let's see . . . "American." Do you mean North American, Central American or South American?
North, English is the predominant language, but a lot of citizens of these countries speak Spanish or French as their first language.
Central, vast majority of the citizens of those countries speak Spanish, a few English as their first language.
South, no contest. Spanish, then Portugeuse and again a few English as the first language.
Wasn't colonialism great - think of all the languages we would have had if those missionaries, homesteaders, mineral barons and "explorers." had not brought their "culture" over.
The OP might want to visit Quebec to find out what it's like to be a "fish out of water" linguistically. Those Quebequois make Joey Vento look like a language liberal.

:offtopic: Interesting side note. During the 1930's, the largest membership in the KKK was from New Jersey. That really surprised me when I learned that.

You are conveniently ignoring the reason many American corporations have Spanish signs and announcements.

For me, cultural diversity is one of the best things about this country, and while on the topic, one of the coolest things about WDW. This has gone from a WDW related topic to one that reminds me of the worst, bigoted propaganda I hear on talk radio. This is not the place for that. Some people come here to cause trouble. They are called trolls. Best to leave them alone, as they will eventually go away. I'm going to take my own advice, and leave this thread alone.
