When I have a character sign stuff I never use the autograph books. I have nothing against the autograph books and I think they are really neat, but for myself I rather do something different. The fact that each and everyone of us humans are different is a good thing and it makes the world more exciting :goodvibes

So if some people are not into Disney and would rather go to other theme parks and do other stuff I must say I have no problem with that at all and it even makes me happy :) Now I am a big time Disney fan, but like I said the world is more exciting since we are all different. So as long as people don't give me a hard time about the fact that I love Disney than I am cool with them :)

Anyways to get back on topic lol > Well I like to have the characters sign pictures that I had taken with them before and/or Dvds or movies that they are in. I had Mulan sign my Mulan Dvd and this was before I had ever even watch Mulan. So when I got back from this vacation watching Mulan was a real treat :lovestruc

I also had Minnie sign some pictures that I had taken with her. During my birthday vacation I had minnie sign a wallet size photo that I had taken with my photo pass. She was hugging and kissing me in the picture. There was a line for Minnie and Mickey and Minnie felt the need to show the picture to Mickey and Mickey did not like the picture :p She gave him a kiss after she showed him the picture, but after I got a picture taken with her it seems like she gave me a bigger kiss lol > What is interesting is later that day I showed Mickey that same picture and had him sign it and he was very friendly to me about it :goodvibes > I have also had little Cinderelly sign a few pictures that I have had taken with her * Blushes * :p

O and I lost count of how many times I have had Suzy and Perla sign pictures that I had taken with them. I have a lot of copies of this picture

I have had Suzy and Perla sign this picture many times as it's my favorite picture that I have had taken in DisneyWorld :goodvibes > When I go back up to DisneyWorld I am going to have Suzy and Perla sign my Cinderelly dvd. There is a little mouse wearing a pink dress on the Cinderelly Dvd so I am curious if it's Perla ? It's hard to tell because there is more than one female mouse who wears a pink dress in the Cinderelly movie, so I am not sure if I am going to have Perla sign her name by that mouse or not lol >

I will be eating at the 1900 Park Fair everynight during my Valentine's vacation so that is 7 nights lol > Suzy and Perla are the reason why I love the 1900 Park Fair so much. Suzy and Perla are by far my favorite characters that come to DisneyWorld and I love all those characters that come to DisneyWorld he he > I have also had Chip and Dale and Pluto,Mickey and others sign pictures that I had taken with them. And for my birthday vacation I had long made plans to get a picture taken with Ariel every singel day I was there and that was 9 days. Also every day I had her sign a picture that I had taken with her before and it was a different picture everyday. Getting a picture taken with the little mermaid or any mermaid always makes me happy :goodvibes * Blushes * > Mermaids are so cute * Blushes red *

O by the way you may notice that my shirt says " I'm their little baby " You see since Suzy and Perla are way older than me and since I am a big fan of theirs I feel like I am their adopted child :goodvibes In fact the girl mouse in the yellow dress as well as all the female mice from Cinderelly are like my little adopted mother's :goodvibes Most people seem to say Cinderella but I say Cinderelly, but remember the little mouse in the yellow dress is my mommy so its makes sense that I would say Cinderelly :goodvibes

I have had the Princesses sign both the CD liner notes from a CD and a program from Disney on Ice. It makes a fun conversation note to have them sign something other than an autograph book.

We had Stitch sign my DS's "My first trip to Disney" shirt with Stitch on it. One word of advice though, they will NOT sign a shirt if you are wearing it (even on the back).

We always bought our kids a new baseball cap in the parks when we got there and had the characters sign the hats. They loved wearing it and to this day still have theirs even though their teenagers. I have no idea what happened to the autograph books though, they got done with them quickly.

What a great picture!!!
I had the characters sign scrapbook paper and then I cut around their signatures and put them in a frame. In the middle I put a picture of my kids with Mickey Mouse. If I can remember, I'll take a picture when I get home:)

We dropped off pillowcases for autographs at Guest Services while on our Wonder cruise. It was autgraphed on one side (Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Donald, Daisy, Chip, Dale, & Stitch) when we picked it up. After the cruise, we carried it around the parks with us and got more autographs (Ariel, Snow White, Belle, Jasmine, Cinderella, Gepetto, Pinocchio, Rafiki, Captain Hook, Mr. Smee, & Tigger). The kids have a nice little keepsake now. My sister-in-law said her kids went autograph crazy with the books on their trip, and then never looked at them again after returning home. Based on that for our autographs, we thought it would be nice to have something the kids will see and use on a regular basis.

my daughter had a broken leg and has numerous autographs on it. the characters really babied her when they signed. it took forever to remove the cast, because the doctor had to cut it off around the signatures.

What a great idea!! I do Disney scrapbooks of our trip and they would look great in it. They would work really well @ a character meal. I'm about to start on this yr. scrapbook and I got the 2006 scrapbook and I can't wait to begin. You have to really watch these because this one has the binder holes in them. I guess I will hole punch all my paper.
Thanks again!

Omigod! I'm "really close friends" with Suzy and Perla, and I'm positive I was there when that picture was taken! I remember you.

Oh, and yes, characters love to see creative ideas with the autograph books and other things. It breaks up the sameness of the books sold in the park.

Wow, how cool is that!

We bring oversized photo mats to character meals for the characters to sign. Then when we get home, we put the kids' favorite photos in, frame them, and hang them in their room.

my ds purchased a goofy hat while at wdw and he had Goofy sign his hat
My only advice is to make sure you bring a thick sharpie for something other than paper. we didn't have one for the hat - but Goofy didnt have a problem finding one for us!

This past year, I bought a $3.00 Disney Princess poster at Wal-Mart, and I had the different princesses sign it. I bought a cheap poster frame, and it's now hanging in the playroom.

In 2004, I bought a 8x10 print of Cinderella and the Prince, and I had the mat signed by all the Cinderella characters at the 1900 Park Faire dinner.

The autograph books are fun at the time, but they do just lay around the house. I guess it will be something neat to look at when my girls are older.
Next time, I would like to buy one of the autograph books with the photo spot on one side and the autograph on the other.

The last time the kids went to Disney in 2000 we had them sign an autograph book. It's been in their keepsake box ever since. Never to be looked at again. So this trip we printed out an iron on transfer and put it on a shirt for all the characters to sign. They won't sign it if you are wearing it but we brought them all along in a back sack. They characters didn't seem to mind signing it. I had to pull the t-shirt really tight for them to sign nicely but we did it in permanent Sharpie. We got back on Sunday and they all brought them to show and tell at school this week.

What a great idea - I think I am going to find a shirt to have signed during my next trip.

Great picture Flower!! :daisy:

I have to admit that I never thought of having them sign anything, but the autograph books. I know, not very creative of me right? Now, thanks to the OP, I will be thinking of other things for the characters to sign. I think we have enough autograph books anyway!!!

I usually have the characters sign our autograph books. Almost always, I have a clipart/sticker of the character on the page they will sign, and they love seeing that. Kim Possible and Ron got a big kick out of it - Ron felt so important! :)

But I have had characters sign other things. Once I had the Queen from Snow White sign her "autobiography" - the book that tells her side of the story, and flip it over, it tells Snow White's side. :)

I think I am going to do the pillowcase thing this year! We already have a book with all the characters we could see! I think a pillowcase would be good for her and have enough room for them all!

Each year we go to Barnes & Noble and purchase a Disney Storybook full of character pictures and drawings. We have the characters sign they're own story - makes for a neat keepsake through the years.

Last year we had reservations at CRT, so we bought a Disney Princess Storybook just for that, and each princess signed their picture.

My BIL always buys the characters' comic books (vintage copies) for his three boys and has the characters sign those. Chip and Dale in particular were just fascinated by these!
