Am I the only one who has the characters sign other stuff besides the autograph book

We don't have kids, and but I have collected in the past for kids friends - I have had characters sign postcards, and then mailed the post cards home.

I have also had books, DVD and CD's signed.

This year we bought a friend a Disney share and we got the plain white paper frame. I am going to have her favourites sign it, and then I will frame it for her birthday.

And now that Pixar will be gone, I am thinking of doing the same thing with a Pixar Share.

I have also taken a pillowcase - I ironed a transfer of all the characters one side, and asked them to sign the other.

I have to admit that I never thought of having them sign anything, but the autograph books. I know, not very creative of me right? Now, thanks to the OP, I will be thinking of other things for the characters to sign. I think we have enough autograph books anyway!!!

I dont have anything to contribute to this thread.. but wanted to tell you Tara that your little girls are precious!

I have this white baseball cap with Eeyore embroidered on it and I've had it for years. It's my favorite hat. You've just given me the idea to let the characters sign it when we go in late Feb. You people are brilliant. I love this forum. :teeth:

I guess this autograph thing is beyond me. I can see kids getting all jazzed up about having the characters sign stuff. But, aren't these folks actors, dressed up like characters? Getting paid very little to do so... :confused3 Couldn't you just sign your stuff yourself? :duck:

In my mind I refuse to believe that these are costumes with a human being inside them. My mind wants to believe that these characters are real. So when I get a picture taken with Suzy and Perla I don't look at it like I am gettting a picture taken with 2 girls who are 5 feet tall dressed in mice costumes. When I get a picture taken with Suzy and Perla I feel like I am really getting a picture taken with Cinderella's mice and these mice seem very real to me :goodvibes

Good for you, I hope you have a magical upcoming trip! :goodvibes

What wonderful ideas! Buzz once signed DS's baseball cap with his stamper while Woody and Jessie signed his book...it was very cute. The hat was (of course!) a Buzz hat so he gestured to me with the stamper, I said to go for it, and he stamped DS's now favorite souvenier.

I'll have to think of something fun for our next trip....

Our kids wanted Disney Baseballs for the characters to sign. There was a couple times when the characters played "catch" with the baseball after signing. Our kids loved it and it made for some cute video.

My kids did the autograph books a little, but my kids usually brought a shirt.
The 'helper/handler' did check to be sure it was Disney merch first, then it was ok.
My autographs are on a Cinderella backpack that I carry alot!! I love it!
It's fun to have something different...and people comment about it alot!
Have fun and be creative!

We have used several different things for autographs. We have take the little Adidas backpacks and had those signed on one trip. The last trip we took bright pink clipboards and had the characters sign those and then the girls used them at school. This year we bought pink Princess sweatshirts and had the Princesses sign them by their picture on the back of the sweatshirt. (We even bought a light blue sharpie to match the pictures on the back.) They have all made great keepsakes.

One note though, the characters are not allow to sign the shirt/sweatshirt if a person is wearing it so you have to carry it and wear it another time.

my daughter had a broken leg and has numerous autographs on it. the characters really babied her when they signed. it took forever to remove the cast, because the doctor had to cut it off around the signatures.

ohhhhhh!!! *seriously considering breaking my leg before my next trip*

Only joking! (well..... )

it's a shame your DD hurt her leg but OMG, what a GREAT souvie!

My DD6 brought her Cinderella book to 1900 Park Fare and had all of the characters autograph the page that had their picture on it.
I also bought two 8x10 matted pictures - one of Snow White and one of Cinderella (DD3 and DD6's favorites) and had them autograph the mattes. We are doing their room in a princess theme and hang them on the wall.

Omigod! I'm "really close friends" with Suzy and Perla, and I'm positive I was there when that picture was taken! I remember you.

Oh, and yes, characters love to see creative ideas with the autograph books and other things. It breaks up the sameness of the books sold in the park.

Chances are some of you on here have your picture of me as well.

Goofy and me are great pals. Baloo at animal kingdom aint so bad either.

The last time the kids went to Disney in 2000 we had them sign an autograph book. It's been in their keepsake box ever since. Never to be looked at again. So this trip we printed out an iron on transfer and put it on a shirt for all the characters to sign. They won't sign it if you are wearing it but we brought them all along in a back sack. They characters didn't seem to mind signing it. I had to pull the t-shirt really tight for them to sign nicely but we did it in permanent Sharpie. We got back on Sunday and they all brought them to show and tell at school this week.

by chance did you get goofy to sign this at animal kingdom? because if you did... i think i remember you.

Perhaps you are unaware that each and ever character .. even the ones who can not sign things out in public have their own distictive autograph.. each character performer has to pass a test on signing these autographs before they are ever aproved to do it in public. it's not a simple task writing these things. especialy when you are people like pluto and goofy who have to sign thesethings totaly blind.

You are good friends with Baloo at Animal Kingdom??? Are "you" and Baloo out in the front area near where you enter? I met Baloo there and he looked at my lime green DIS button and then indicated he was a DISer! And he covered up my camcorder with his paw so no one would ever know!!! :teeth:

I think this was back in the end of October when it happened! Made my day! :)

Mecha Figment, I recently posted about Goofy making my dd's day but, I'll put it here for you to read since you and Goofy are close friends.

My dd really wanted to go to Goofy's Country Dancin' Jamboree and she was in tears when she learned it was gone. On our last day at WDW in the AK, a bit of Goofy magic made her (and my) day.

I wonder if you were with your pal Goofy at Donald's Breakfastosaurus last May. My dd said that she wished she could have seen Goofy dance at the Jamboree and, Goofy did a little dance for her at breakfast. Tell him thanks for us!!!:love2:

Oh, fiddlesticks!! But that means there are at least two DISers who are friends with Baloo at Animal Kingdom ....! That Baloo must be around here on the DIS somewhere!! :teeth:

Why can't I see Flowers photo, Iam just getting a little red cross. :confused3
