Am I the only one who doesn't like stuffing?

Well, its Thanksgiving again. I love the holiday and taking the time to count all of my blessings, but Thanksgiving does come with a very minor problem for me.

You see, I don't like stuffing. I never have. I don't know why, perhaps I don't have the stuffing gene, but most stuffing just doesn't taste good to me and the texture is pasty and nasty.

I know, as problems go, this is not a big one, but it has another minor issue associated with it. Every year, we go to my Mother inlaw's house for Thanksgiving dinner. She has a special stuffing recipe that she is very proud of which she serves every year. I tried turning it down one year when it was served to me. MISTAKE! She was very upset and kept asking me if there was anything wrong with the stuffing. So, in the name of family harmony, I now just choke down my help helping of stale, soggy, seasoned bread crumbs and complement her on how wonderful it tastes. Oh well, Its a small sacrifice and it seems to make her happy.

So, am I alone or is there anyone else out there who dislikes stuffing?

I like my own stuffing - but - one year I had to go to my DD's in-law's for Thanksgiving and man - was that stuffing ever nasty!! I swear it was just like eating wallpaper paste..

I've had lots of stuffings that I don't like but maybe it's just because I'm so used to my own.. I use pork sausage in mine..

Mmmmmmm.. Now I'm hungry!!

I don't care for white bread stuffing at all. But I really love my mother's cornbread stuffing

I used to hate it, my mom puts all the gibblets in it. Ewww! But sometimes I find a good one, like my MIL.

DH hates most forms of stuffing. He will, however, eat my mom's very atypical stuffing, which she makes out of sticky rice, chopped Chinese mushrooms and sausages, roasted chestnuts, and soy sauce. YUMMY!!

Nativetxn, I'm just the opposite - I hate corn bread stuffing and love white/wheat bread stuffing.

And most folks go overboard with the sage - seasonings should be discovered not announced!

I like my Mom's stuffing, but my MIL makes it with ground beef, carrots and raisins - Yuck is all I can say. SIL tries to make it the same way and it is even worse.

I miss getting together with my side of the family and traditional stuffing.

My 16 yr old DD however, did NOT get the stuffing gene. She doesn't like it as "dressing" cooked outside the bird, and stuffing cooked inside the bird is worse...."totally disgusting"

I dont not like stuffing either. And as anyone who has dined with old ladies before they dont take no for an answer very well. My mil is always trying to force the stuff (no pun intended ) on me.

I don't like stuffing, I don't like dressing, I don't like corn bread though. I also don't like hush puppies!

I can't stand it. Mom insisted on putting bell peppers, too much pepper and tons of onions in hers. I just quit eating it.

I hated it until I got pregnant with my ds. I like it now. It's not something I want a lot of, but I do like it now.
