Am I the only one? New Backpacks for school

I buy LL Bean backpacks. DS had 1 for elementary and is on his 1 for middle school. I'll buy him a new one for high school. Both of his backpacks still look new and he uses the original backpack when we travel.

They don't allow the kids to carry their backpacks during the school day here. They are used only for transporting things to and from school. Otherwise, they have to stay in their lockers.
