Am I the only one devastated by the Country Bear Jamboree Updates just released?

I don't have a really strong opinion about the changes. The whole music scene in Disney Parks has been changing to reflect the tastes of new generations. I don't get the same feeling from the music I used to get, even the music in some of the rides.
I have often thought that the Country bear Jamboree should be a themed eating area.

It's tough because, taken individually, some changes aren't too bad. But, everything in Frontierland, which was my favorite area in WDW, is changing. I know BTMRR won't be gone for good, but it will be down for over a year. So, next time I go to WDW, it will be a completley different trip.

Hate to say it but people posting on a Disney message board aren’t their target audience. Very unlikely that a majority of the population has a negative response to this change at all.

I think that is why Disney is failing where Universal is succeeding. Disney is NOT listening to its fans when they should.

You need to be a pretty hard-core fan to spend more than it costs to go to Europe on a theme park vacation more than once. Nostalgia is their best asset and they don't value it. It's a major error on their part.

Respectfully disagree. You’re going to keep going back regardless (or a retention rate of people like you of 95+%). To a new family that’s not been, hearing a Whole New World and other popular songs creates an emotional attachment to get them coming back.

Gaining that new customer is the person they’re looking to capture.

If everyone who goes keeps going back, they wouldn't need any new customers.

Besides these things that we discuss here caused so many of us to be repeat customers. Does Disney really only want wealthier once and done visitors? That is a finite number at some point.

The Country Bear Jamboree holds a special place in many Disney World fans' hearts, myself included. It's a true classic, creating memories for generations. It's like going to a concert for your favorite band – you want to hear the hits, the songs you love. Same goes for the Country Bears!

While I'm excited about the show's modernization and the animatronics' refresh, there's a part of me that cherishes the originals. Big Al is a legend, and I can't imagine anyone wanting an EDM dubstep remix of a beloved Disney classic from him!

I would disagree. The people who get on message boards to post their latest complaint represent 1/2 of 1 percent of their consumers. Trying to please them is an exercise in futility. All they really need to do is look at the half empty theater most days to realize that it's time for an update. We complain that they are replacing our nostalgic favorite attraction and then also complain that the 40-year-old ride with 50-year-old animatronics is always going down. At some point, you just have to move on. My 9 yo doesn't care about the Tiki Room and doesn't even know who the Swiss Family are. Do we really need Tom Sawyer's Island? There's rarely anyone over there (if it is open) and not much to really do anyway. Can we not move on from it because 47 people on the internet had a favorite memory from 42 years ago about walking in a cave?

I personally don't want to visit an amusement park museum. I want to see what's new. When DW opened it was special because there wasn't much like it. Now that's becoming true again but for the wrong reasons. How does the word Tomorrowland even apply when the speedway is using old power instead of (at the very least) an electric car? I love the People Mover, but why am I being moved on a bench that looks like it's from a 1982 McDonalds restaurant? We could all probably do post after post of all the ways in which time is passing Disney by. Being devastated over a song change seems a bit much.

I found a video of the new show on Reddit. The song selection is quite weird to me and doesn't fit the theme of "Country Bears".

For those who hated the old show, you might like it now.

For those who loved the old show, I think you'll be disappointed.

All in all, I think its unbearable

That's the thing, Nostalgia is important but so is new stuff - it's a balance. I am happy that the Country Bears weren't thrown out entirely, but modernizing the show doesn't hurt either. I'm at least game to give it a try.

I am pretty sure it would have been worse if they had replaced them altoegher - probably with a DVC Lounge! 🤣

I was in the indifferent camp when it came to the OG Country Bear show and think the new one is fine. Not amazing but not as bad as Under New Management. The only song I really have an issue with is Try Everything - it sounds pretty bad compared to the others.

According to those with insider knowledge, it was either this rendition of the show or the Bears would've been closed permanently so with that in mind this is the better alternative.

I saw a video of the new show and it’s mostly ok. They kept Big Al and his part is too short but he’s there. And like I said earlier he is the character that matters. 😉

There were previews today and I’ve watched a lot of videos of it. They kept “Come Again” at the end. There’s that familiar twang of a guitar thrown here and there in Big Al singing “Remember Me”.
I know the show was originally supposed to be hokey and hillbilly but this is just something else.
Now I will say I’m from the South and a country girl raised on allll the styles of country/western/bluegrass/etc music. They claim they altered the Disney songs to be those different styles but all I’m getting is they sang it with a stereotypical accent so that makes it country/western/bluegrass/whatever.
