Am I the only one devastated by the Country Bear Jamboree Updates just released?

I'm sorry. I'm not averse to all things new, but this musical score is going to completely change the whole show. This is not a refurb like we were initially led to believe but a total overhaul. My kids cried watching the previews, and the songs, other than the Bear Necessities, have no place in this show. I'm going to have to move into the TIKI room before they destroy that too. I get that these are not the most popular attractions, but when I would stop in once on every visit, my entire childhood flooded back to me and my kids feel the same. What is wrong with appreciating what it was for the time it was made in and cleaning up the costumes and animatronics but keeping it the same?
My DD grew up with the Iago version of Tiki Room, we stopped going to it when the new/old version opened up. We just spend more time on HM, PoC, or other attractions we love.

We go see the Bears every year and for some reason, I paid more attention this last time (before the closure was announced). I am not offended by it, but I will admit I said to one of the other people I was with that I was surprised it had lasted as long as it had. I'm looking forward to seeing the new version, in its entirety, before I decide.

Muppets could use a little updating.

I would like to see The Muppets redone as The Muppet Show with random scenes, like Star Tours. Like a random cold open, then the theme song (and of course a random sound from Gonzo's trumpet), then two or three random sketches. I am not sure how they could work in the animatronics with that, but I think they could figure it out.

I'm not interested in spoilers, but can anyone who has seen these "previews" confirm whether or not Big Al is still in there? And I agree with the poster who said "Blood on the Saddle" was one of the best parts.

I like country (and liked the original CBJ, and the song from Zootopia) but did not care for the video I saw of "Try Everything" (like, pretty strongly). A little too ... something. I can't place it - but not my cup of tea.

We loved the old show and thought it was a hoot. That said, it could use a refresh - even if it's just from a technology standpoint. I was not a fan of using the Disney music though and still am not. I like the corny jokes and "inappropriate" humor. But after watching the update last night I was encouraged that Mac MacAnally is involved. There's hope!

Half the fun of the show was just watching the audience reactions. I don't think there was anything egregious in the show, but it definitely caught people off guard. I'll miss it dearly, but I hope the new show at least gives a sliver of nostalgia. I'd love to hear the Bear Band Serenade again. Zeke and Zeb and Ted and Fred, and a bear name Tennessee.

Yeah, I don't see why they can't start with that number - maybe a new recording of it.

well, all of that is indeed in the show. I guess it's just a matter of whether or not on thinks it is inappropriate. I don't really - it's just for fun. The songs are jokes. The one song about blood...

There was blood on the saddle and blood all around
And a great big puddle of blood on the ground
A cowboy lay in it all covered with gore
And he never will ride any broncos no more
Oh, pity the cowboy, all bloody and red
For the bronco fell on him and bashed in his head
There was blood on the saddle and blood all around
And a great big puddle of blood on the ground

So the joke is that his horese fell on him. It's the unexpected reason that makes it funny.
Thank you! We attend Country Bears every two or three visits, and it was driving me crazy trying to remember the rest of this song. The current short version doesn't make any sense, but the full one does. I miss the longer versions of the other songs, too, and I look forward to seeing the new show.

If you watch the preview you'll understand they are not just cleaning it up a bit and making it "more appropriate" their completely changing the feel. You can't turn Try Everything and A Whole New World into anything country no matter who you have sing it. It's such a dramatic shift, it seems like they won't be able to keep a single thing even remotely close to what the show once was.

It sounds like they should have done away with the history of the show and created something completely new. I can't explain it without one listening to the samples of the new music.

I don’t know anything about the remake, but I know the last time we went it was wholly inappropriate and it in no way had aged well at all. We are pretty laid back on topics we would discuss when our kids were little and we were appalled. Nostalgia aside, it needed to go.
We went a couple times last summer hearing it was changing and for some AC. 😏 Yeah I’m not easily offended but it was cringe worthy.

I think folks should be happy the bears are staying at all, plenty of IPs they could add especially if they take out Tiki too and have more space.

You are not the only one. CBJ was my second favorite part of all of WDW, edged out slightly by HDDR. I laugh the whole time. It's not even nostalgia--I didn't start to enjoy it until I was an adult.
I said this in the other thread, but changing the songs takes all emotions out of the bears--their entire life stories--and risks making them a Chuck E Cheese type attraction. WDW is supposed to be about telling stories. Loosely bear-themed music isn't really a story that needs to be told, IMO.
