My husband ordered me a bouquet of flowers for yesterday and paid top dollar for them. The only problem is that they never got here. :furious: He got a delivery conformation and everything and I never even saw the flower company down my street. Has anyone else experienced this from 1800Flowers.com before? This is not our first bad purchase from them, I don't know what my husband was thinking ordering from them. I personally think they are way over priced and do not deliver what the advertise. I want a full refund and they can keep their flowers. Who needs flowers when you are leaving to go to Disney in 4 days!! Thanks for letting me vent.

I will post an update when I finally get through to them. I am 787th person in line on their chat with customer service and am also on the phone on hold. Just how I want to spend my day instead of packing.

IMO, you should call your credit card company first & put a hold on the transaction.

Then call the florist at your convenience. They will probably call YOU when they see thet have been backcharged.

Our local news station just did a segment on the internet flower companies and did they deliver the type of flowers they advertised. I believe 1800Flowers came in #3 out of 4 companies. I think ProFlowers was the best and their arrangements did look great. However, their flowers come directly from the grower and you must assemble your arrangment yourself (they give detailed instructions). 1800Flowers contracts out to local florists so you are at the mercy of whatever the local place does.

Hopefully your husband paid by credit card. If so, I agree - don't mess around with them.

Call the Credit Card company and dispute the charge. They should give you a fax telephone number or address to send your documentation. Fax them his confirmation with the message "never received flowers."

and then if flowers do come to your house today - refuse the delivery and refuse to sign.

I personally don't like flowers out of a box and told my husband to stop using 800-flowers or the other one.

Stick with the local florist instead.

I"ve had better luck with 1800flowers than proflowers. My MIL said the ones she got weren't very pretty and didn't last very long.

I just call the local place. They're the ones who usually get the order from 1800 flowers anyway, and if I mention something and the cost on the internet they'll usually give me a small discount.

Like the birthday flower cake, I ordered that for DH's grandmother one year. I called the local place and asked if they could do it. They said yes and charged me 5 or $10 less than the 1800flowers price.

I agree that they should be called and told the flowers never got there. I also think it's a good idea to call the credit card comany to let them know that if it's not refunded you'll want to dispute the charge.

Good luck, and have a great trip!!!!!!!!!

No experience with 1800flowers, but I have both sent and received flowers from Proflowers, and I had good experiences both ways. The flowers I received were just beautiful, and they lasted a good long time. I sent flowers to my friend in another state just last week when her sister died, and they arrived on the day the were supposed to, and my friend was very pleased with them.

Somebody who has an almost-identical address probably got your beautiful flowers instead :guilty: .

I don't know if you can find out who the local 1(800)flowers florist is, but *if* you can, maybe you can talk to them directly.

I feel your pain about a long wait in phone mail h*ll. When the snowstorm hit this weekend, it was IMPOSSIBLE to get through by phone or by using their website (which crashed) to United or even to any of the local airports to get info on flights being able to take off.

If 1(800)flowers has a Spanish-language option, you could try pushing that button and then hitting "O" to get an agent. Whoever you get will probably be able to speak English anyway...

Btw, I ordered two deliveries from 1(800)flowers for Valentine's Day and both the recipients were very pleased. But like someone else said, your satisfaction is entirely dependent on the local florist who is affiliated with 1(800)Flowers.Com.

Good luck,
agnes!

I have found the customer service at 1-800 flowers to be atrocious. I won't do business w/ them ever again.

How sad and disappointing . Definitely call! :confused3

My sweet son has sent me several bouquets/plants thru 1800Flowers. Sad to say, as happy as he may think he made me, each time I have been very dissatisfied with the quanity and quality for price paid and therefore complained. Last yr he sent his wife a $150. bouquet of roses and lilies that died the next day. Needless to say - she complained and they replaced. I'm sure some have had better luck, like mentioned earlier, it really depends on florists they are affiliated with in your area.

I'll never forget the time my brother ordered my mother a "looks beautiful on the website" floral arrangement.
He ordered it...paid for it...and they delivered it.
My mother was happy...hey - flowers!
My brother goes over to my mom's house to visit...and see this teeny tiny "arrangement" of like 5 flowers.

"Oh h*ll no!" he says and gets on the phone.

He ripped them up one way and down the other...saying how they overcharge, misrepresent...and his "mother who is going blind could hardly see this tiny arrangement" (he's been known to embellish)

I dunno how my brother did it...but my mother got a dozen roses from 1800flowers every month for the next 6 months...free of charge.

Now - i'm not advocating that if you witch ( ;) ) enough, you'll get free stuff...but I am saying...don't believe the picture on the website!

Completely agree about using local florist directly rather than using a national phone service.

I'm right there with you except I used justflowers.com. I used them before and it was great. These last flowers I ordered were for my MIL's birthday and were supposed to be delivered on Monday! They sent me an email apologizing, asked if they should deliver the next day (yesterday), I said yes. Well guess what, no delivery yesterday either! I am now trying to get through to them with little luck. I am not happy and I can just imagine what MIL is thinking!

I've had this happen to me with FTD.com last Mothers Day. My mom's flowers didn't arrive until the day after they were supposed to and they didn't look anything like what was on the internet picture. For the price, it didn't even come close to what I was expecting! FTD was supposed to issue me a 25% refund back to my credit card, but I never saw it. I just let it go, but I won't use them again.

My Dh always orders from 1800 flowers. The arrangement I got yesterday was beautiful. We never had a problem with them. One year my mil ordered me the flower cake for my birthday. It arrived a week early. My mil called and complained and they sent me another one on my birthday. I have to say the flowers I received from them in the past usually last awhile.
Sorry for your dissappointment. :wave2:

It's funny you should mention that - DH ordered me some flowers from ProFlowers, paid extra money (In JANUARY!!!) to guarantee delivery on V-day, and they came yesterday....a dozen and a half roses in a vase w/ a balloon, and all but 5 roses were completely broken off!!! :furious:

The nice thing was I called them back, and they did apologize, and then asked me if I would like a brand new arrangement at no charge, or if I would like to pick out something different. When I told them to just send me what DH had ordered, she told me that they were out of that, but they would send me 2 dozen long stemmed roses in it's place, which was double the value of what DH had originally ordered. The flowers came first thing this morning, and looked great. (Yes, I did have to arrange them myself, but the directions were really easy!)

I was disappointed with them at first, (obviously just because of the flowers being broken) but their customer service definitely made up for it.... :thumbsup2

I had a problem with them this past July. My sister was in the hospital for her c-section - cutest lil' boy ever! Anyway, I sent her flowers that were supposed to have a balloon that said "It's a boy". Well, my sister called me to thank me for the flowers but asked why it said "Get well soon" - she asked, "was it because of having the surgery?" Uh, no. So I got on the phone asap to find out what happened and they promised to send a new balloon. When they brought the balloon to my sister, the deliverer told her they made a mistake and apologized profusely - there was a mix up and they delivered her flowers and balloon to someone else in the hospital and vice versa. The funny part is that the person that got the "It's a boy" balloon was an 80 some odd year old woman! Poor thing probably had a heart attack in addition to whatever she was in there for!

Now that's funny! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I had a problem with 1800flowers.com too. I was supposed to send flowers to someone in a Sunday School class the day after she had surgery. So I did it online. I found what I wanted and entered the date, almost a MONTH ahead of time. Guess what? She got flowers delivered the next day!!

I checked and rechecked and all my dated were correct. Boy was I ticked!
