Hi guys...

My gf and I are going to Disney World this summer..... and we had not thought much about our ages.. I'll be 22 and she will be 19. So last week we called to make reservations at a local beach and they said we must be married or at least 23 years old to check-in. Several hotels told us this.. one was willing to let us check in but we had to put a room deposit down.

Does Disney have any age restrictions when checking in?... gosh i hope not because we've saved for so long.. now that we have it paid off i hope we won't be let down... thanks for your help guys

You just need to be 18 to check into a WDW hotel, so you should be fine. Have a GREAT trip!!

Yes you'll be fine my friends and I went when we were in college ages 18-23 male and female no problems. Have fun ::yes::

The only problem you should/might have with age would be a car rental. In my experience, most car rental places require you to be 25 or have LOTS of insurance and available credit on your credit card.

You should be fine for getting a room at wdw. Have fun!!:teeth:

I have never in my entire life ever been asked for my age when making reservations or checking into a hotel, whether in Florida or anywhere else for that matter. And that include Walt Disney World!

Have a blast!

I have been making reservations since I was 18 and I joined DVC when I was 21, I am only 23 now and it has never been a problem.

no problem at Disney, you only have to be 18 years old to check-in to a Disney resort.
Have fun!! :)

Laura :)

You'll still have to give a cc (or mail a check) for one night's deposit though - that's just standard practice, nothing to do with your age!

there is a car rental place in Kissimmee that will allow 18 years old to rent their cars.

I don't remember the place right off - it is in the Kissimmee vacation guide - but will look it up if you need the information.

You can vote and die for your country but you can't RENT A CAR. How silly is that?!?!?

My wife and I are running into the same problem. I am only 24 and have been Married two years and have just bought a house. I also own two cars but for some strange reason the powers that be have decided that I cant be trusted with the a car rental. However there are some places that allow me to rent a car with a daily charge and I am limited to a chevy metro. Yea that is the car that I want to spend a week in. Can you imagine a 6'3 guy and his wife crusing aroud in a cramped metro? Please!

As the previous posters have just mentioned, you only need to be 18 or older to check in at a WDW hotel. As for renting a car, I used to fly down here when I was under 25 from up north (only lived in FL for 3 yrs now) and rent a car for the week as I used to visit family here in FL for half my trip. The car rental places will rent from age 21 and over but if you are under 25 they charge an extra $10 per day insurance fee. That was about 10 yrs ago so I'm sure that per day fee has probably gone way up since then:rolleyes: So since you are 22 you can rent a car -- it will just be kind of expensive. If you're staying on WDW property the entire trip, I wouldn't reccommend it since you get Disney transportation for free. But if not, it can be done, just might be really expensive.

In April 2001, I was 22 and my GF was 19 and we went to WDW. No problems with the hotel (All Stars Music), but as others have said, the rental car was a bit of a problem. Budget allowed us to rent a car, but there was a $25/day underage fee. We rented an economy car, but were upgraded to a bright yellow Jeep Wrangler convertible for free. Perhaps they felt bad about the amount they were charging me? Worked out well, anyway.

It's all about statistics... just like it is cheaper for a women than men for car insurance. ... it is impossible to get decent isnurance if you are between 18-21 despite a good record etc... unless help by your parents...

It is all about statistics and laws of probabilities....

Not anymore....there was a whole discrimation suit and apparently they have leveled the prices for men and women...equal rights...were are still getting hosed!

Really!!! I did not know that... WOW you learn something new everyday... there is still a difference in age groups right???

As others have said, 18 is the adult age at Disney.

Beach resorts have restrictions. Some you must be 25 to rent. This is to discourage the Spring Break crowds.

I'm not sure what state you are talking about, but in Georgia, women still pay less than men just like they do in life and health insurance. I know because my husband is an insurance agent and has been one for 28 years. Statistics show that young men cause more accidents than young women. They're a higher risk factor. Discrimination has nothing to do with it. I should also add that I currently work at one of the largest insurance companies and have been there for the past 10 years.

Yeah in life insurance we pay less..my premium is much less than my husbands, can't speak to health insurance my job pays my insurance the luck of being a government employee...but not auto insurance, I remember that changed when I was a teenager. My mom was furious....my brother who is a year younger insurance was much higher than mine. Well as I said before there was a lawsuit and they raised mine and lowered his but overall she paid more money b/c mine what up much more than his went down....see my signature...we live in PA.
