I've narrowed it down to just the basics of what I *can't live without*:rotfl2:

Is this really doable on a $6000 budget? I am only factoring in wedding stuff-NOT airline/hotel/tix, etc...

:confused3 Also, can you use the AP they give you for your park tickets and towards hotel discounts during that trip?

Ok here's the rundown:
-Escape Wedding package (at a regular venue, not the upgraded WP at GF)
-Lunch reception at Garden View Tea Room for 18 people. Just regular Grand Tea reservations, we aren't interested in buying the whole place out.
-Nighttime Illuminations Cruise
-MK photo package (I can't resist! I've read that it's about $800)
-Simple rose wands for 2 BM, corsage for MOH, boutonniere for best man and 2 GM (something simple from outside vendor)
-We'd like to have some wine for our guests for the Illuminations cruise. Also like to bring our own-not use an extra package from WDW.

What do you think: doable or am I dreaming? :cloud9:

btw: I'm hoping our parents will cover the price of lunch which I think would eliminate around $500, but it's too early at this point to bank on that, since we haven't yet told them the news!

Yes, I think it's very doable!! We are doing an Escape VR in July and are doing some of the same things or very similar and we are spending around $5000 when it's all said and done. Yes, you can use the APs for discounts on rooms if they come available. Happy Planning! :goodvibes

Hi, it seems very do-able but don't forget to include things like the officiant, marriage license etc.

Ours is coming in at $6,800 excluding hotel, air, dress and all the other 'little' things but includes $900 for photography, $250 for floral, $64 for an extra bottle of bubbly and $30 for a button-hole and corsarge. That also covers lunch at the GF Cafe and dinner at YSH at the Yacht club. We're going to have about 12 people in total.

It's the other things that have pushed ours up, like the dress and all the things that go with it, the trip itself (we are from the UK), car hire and a zillion other things!

Woops I forgot about the officiant & licenses!! Sorry, I'm so clueless about this stuff, but how much $$ does that run?

Our wedding ceremony w/ an extra bottle of champagne was $4076. Our dinner at Victoria & Alberts was $2200 with tax/tip including in their private room...so we did $6276 for the wedding. $6000 is very easily attainable.

Officiant Cost $175
License Fee: $97

Hi! The MK photo shoot went up to $1,000 last year. A marriage license by mail is something like $90, but there's a $30ish discount if you can prove you had counseling. HTH! :thumbsup2

Ok, license and officiant seem doable...yikes $1000 for the photo shoot??

I'll just have to beg DF! ;) The MK photo shoot has been a childhood dream to me!

Hiya, the officiants are around the $200 mark. We've got loads of dates in our planning spreadsheet of what (or who) needs to be paid and when as we realised it was ok to have x amount of money in total for the wedding but some of it needed to be paid out in advance.

Don't forget to add in extra bubbly and a bite to eat for all the Dis brides that will be gate-crashing!! :rotfl:

Haha, at this point I might just be setting up a charity fund for us to give to the gate crashers!:rotfl2:

Is it customary to tip the officiant? I've noticed on here that several people invite him/her to the reception. I'd prefer not to do that for us, since I just want an intimate lunch with our nearest and dearest....but I don't want to be rude either. If it is customary to invite them, I"d rather just give them a nice tip or a gift.

What else needs to be paid in advance besides the deposit for the wedding?

Our wedding is going to be 4600 including extra champagne and all my floral decorations.

We won't be inviting the officiant to our reception as we are right on the number for a group booking, but I think we will tip him. He has asked for payment the day before the wedding so I'm not quite sure how we are going to do that without having to meet up with him.

I'm not sure how much of this applies as we are from the UK but we will be paying for our flights and insurance in January next year, I've already paid for my dress but only because I found the one I wanted so early on, there was the deposit for Randy and Kevin Knox, we are getting a week on the Boardwalk with DVC so there is that to pay for in January next year, and the deposit for the other Disney accommodation when it is booked. Then there's things like shoes for the wedding, bag, veil etc. I counted all that in my costing but it all has to (or had to as I've already bought them) be paid for beforehand.

Hope that helps x

It is good to know you can keep the price down as I was doing some sums in my head last night and wondered if they were realistic.

The MK is $1000 now I thought it was 800 also but it has gone up
