Am I just a big crybaby or have you ever cried at MK?

Even the "What will you celebrate?" commercials get me going.

When I even THINK about what it is going to be like when I take my daughter's hand and walk towards Cinderella's castle, the tears just start rolling. I have been waiting for that moment since the day she was born and now finally, finally, finally, that day is SUNDAY and it's really almost here!

Also, when I watch a show about WDW I get blubbery!

Right there with you! While watching HGTV's Behind the Christmas Magic on youtube for the 2nd (or 3rd) time, I was tearing up when DH came in and saw the castle and said "Oooo, it looks like glass!" This will be my first WDW at Christmastime and DH won't be going - now I want to cry again. Pass the tissues.

OH YES! Here, let me give you a list. :teeth:
  • When I saw Mickey for the first time (I was in my 20s), I got teary-eyed.
  • When I see the castle, I tear up.
  • When Wishes starts, I tear up.
  • When my daughter gets really excited about something, I really tear up.
  • When MVMCP starts, I tear up.
  • When the fireworks start with the music, I tear up.

Other areas:
  • When I see special needs kids/adults get excited or try to communicate, I cry.
  • Osbourne Dancing Lights will get my heart strings.
  • Some moments in the parades make me teary-eyed.
  • Any Disney commercial will make me cry!

I guess I am a cry-baby too. :goodvibes

The first time we went to Disney for either me or my wife I looked over as we took the ferry to the Magic Kingdom and my wife was crying as she saw the castle in the distance.

Here we were a couple of 35+ year olds and my wife was crying and then I started crying because of the look of pure happiness on her face. She never thought that she would ever go to Disney in her life and here she was. We spent a wonderful vacation together and shared alot of wonderful experiences and have been back a number of times since.

For her it is a place of joy and to me (an IT professional) it is a place where I can go and get away from the stress and pressure and be a kid again.

We have been in the middle of an adoption for quite some time and we have been visiting Disney regularly to keep our mind off of the wait. On one hand I can't wait to have a child to take with us, but on the other hand my wife will go into withdrawal with trips farther apart. I know that we leave in about 24 hours for our next trip and she just can't wait. Tonight will be jsut like the Disney commercials where everyone is "too excited to sleep" at our house.

Yes, I'm the same way, every time I cry at Wishes. I grew up poor and never took a family vacation as a child. So when it's dark and the Wishes music plays, I can't stop from crying. I just feel so bless that I can afford this.

I'm about to cry right now, because we will be there tomorrow.:cool1:

I cry when:
*we pull into the parking lot of our resort (takes me a few minutes to compose myself before getting out of the car)
*we walk into MK
*Wishes starts
*when we walk out of the last park on our last night
*when we say goodbye to our room
*when a Disney commercial comes on
*at the start of every every Disney movie when Tinkerbelle flies over the castle
*last year I cried every time I heard the train whistle on TV while dh was watching the Childrens Miracle Network Golf Tournament -- This year we might actually be able to be there on the first day of the tournament. But we will be home on the last day of the tournament and I'll bet I'll be crying big time.

I cry at the end of "We Go On" during Illuminations. The music swell, all the voices singing in unison, and the final fireworks... well, that just does me in good!

Also teared up a bit during the princess showboat scene in Fantasmic. Not really sure why, but I think it's that darn Beauty and the Beast song that gets me.

I ALWAYS cry walking down Main Street...IDK why? But they are happy heart tears for sure! I hide behind dark glasses. My peeps make fun of me.

DITTO!!!

And when that first note of Fantasmic slowly fades in louder, louder, louder.

Another new one for me is the newer intro to Disney films where it is a close shot of the train and then it pans out to show the train and the land around it and then the top of the castle starts looming into view......takes my breath away! :cloud9:

I've never been to WDW. I grew up with it being that one vacation that was financially out of reach, but maybe someday...and now, I'm 37 years old, my kids are 10 and 8, and we are going for the first time next March. Will I cry when we get there? Let's see:

I'm crying just reading this thread. I sobbed watching the WDW planning DVD. I cry if I talk about it. Then again, I can be very emotional - Toy Story 3 not only had me sobbing in the theater to the amusement of my DH and kids, but I literally came home and cried for several days over it...

I'll be wearing contacts and I sometimes have an issue with dry eyes, but I'm thinking I'll be pretty safe while at WDW ;)

Oh, and TinkBride, My family and I are also HUGE Colts fans - our miniature poodle's AKC name is Believe in Blue, she came to live with us as an 11-week old puppy the Monday before the Colts won the Super Bowl. We call her Peyton :) Our vet always laughs because he's got about 50 Peytons in his practice, we Hoosiers love our Colts.

My trip last year I cried during Wishes..both times I watched. The first time was because DFi had just asked me to marry him though, I cried, then cried again because I missed the fireworks...but hid it well, blamed the engagement :lmao:
The second time though was pure Wishes charm that did it

Oh how did I forget the voices of liberty?! I tear up everytime I hear them sing

I get emotionally overwhelmed every time we go to MK... The worst (and only time I was embarrassed, because it wasn't just choked up with some tears, it was full on heaving towards the end crying!) was on our most recent trip. I bawled like a freaking baby the first 5 minutes or so of the MSEP. It just brought back so many memories, and I was so glad to be able to share it with my kids. The fireworks, parades, first glimpse of the castle, first glimpse of the train station as the monorail turns, Hall of Presidents, and my dd meeting Cinderella (for the first time this last trip )all get me!!

I had a random cry our first morning... dd and I are hoofing up Main St to make our CRT breakfast ressie, the park is pretty quiet and we're approaching the Partners. There were tons of cast members around with HUGE rolls of the Mickey Stickers. Dd got like 10 different strips! As we walked up the ramp to the castle she turned around, kneeled in her stroller, looked at me and said (in her sweetest little 3 year old voice) "Mommy, this place really is Magic!" -- come on, let's say it together "awwwwwww"

{of course the fact that she called me Mommy and very rarely does, I'm Mom unless she's not feeling well or it's the middle of the nite, added to the emotion!}

I also cry at Fantasmic (the opening few notes, the waterspray part, and the end) and get choked up on Journey into Imagination and Spaceship Earth (just because it's so epic and awesome)

I forgot that I also cried when my wife and I took my parents to Florida for the vacation they were never able to afford when we were growing up. My parents were in front of the castle watching wishes and I was crying becasue I as an adult had been able to give them something they never had been able to give themselves.

Alot of great memories on that trip:wizard:

Awww - love it! :lovestruc Can't balme you though - Disney fans love their fireworks! :wizard:

Also - I love how you have a ticker for when you can make ADR's! Planning for a Disney vacay is almost as much fun as the trip!.........almost.....;)

Yup, except it's usually when I'm leaving... and definately when our WDW vacation is over. :sad1:

Ohhhh - PP....this next trip will be my first time seeing MSEP in YEARS and YEARS........I am pretty much guaranteed to cry.

"Ladies and Gentleman, boys and girls....."

Ok - kinda tearing up now.....at work.....at my desk.....lol

I am not a crier, but I always get emotional when Tinkerbelle flies over during Wishes. My husband always laughes at me. However, when we sat on the beach during Labor Day week-end and watched the local fireworks, he looked at me and said that it is not the same without Tinkerbelle.
