I'm only in disney for a few days and so I have my MK days on 4/30 and 5/2 than I leave on the third. So there's no way around it those are my MK days. How much is this media event gonna ruin my trip I'm pretty sure old crowd numbers say 3 or 4. I'm guessing this is gonna make it different. From what I hear it's media only. How awful is the park going to be. I can't change my plans but I want to be prepared. Any words of wisdom will do. Thanks.

To minimize the impact on your touring, steer clear of New Fantasyland. The events will likely bring a lot of people to MK, even just out of curiosity. If you can't change your park days, the get yourself prepared with a really good touring plan. Hit anything you want in Fantasyland (old and new) at rope drop, then clear out of that area for good by mid-morning and head for the other lands. Check the schedule for those days on MDE because some of the New Fantasyland rides are closed for parts of the day to accommodate the event .

Thanks I didn't even think about checking the schedule for ride closures cause of the event and I'll definitely move my FP around to make sure we are done with fantasy land by mid morning. I'll break up the area over two days and hopefully the other lands will be less busy. Here's to hoping it's not crazy. THanks again

Okay, I have to admit that I do not read EVERY thread, every reply, etc. if I've seen it before or already read most of it or it won't affect us because we won't be there on such and such dates.
WHAT media event and how long does it last??

Obviously if the poster is concerned about those two specific dates, it shouldn't affect us. Just wondering if people who don't get to do what they want will then show up the next couple days after the media event is over.

I haven't paid a lot of attention to the "new Fantasyland" because we rarely venture into any part of Fantasyland except to ride by on the train.

We're arriving on the 3rd and will be doing Epcot for the part of that day that we have available. Unless the crowd trying to make up for lost time overflows into Sunday evening and Monday, we should be okay. It seems you just can't plan any more. There's always something going on that messes with crowd estimates, plans, etc. It gets more and more difficult. And, yes, I know no one is twisting my arm to go there................

On the 2nd may a lot of rides in fantasy land are shut till 12ish so please double check these. You may want to schedule to ride on the first day or in the afternoon (they may be very busy though). Other option is to fp them when they open.

I'll be there on May 2nd too and I had to completly change my touring plan as well from all the ride closures in Fantasyland. Little Mermaid, Barnstormer, Dumbo, Tea Cups, and the Speedway will all be opening at 11am as of right now, and the Laugh Floor will open at noon. The times and rides down have been changing so keep an eye on it.

Also, you won't be able to get into those parts of Fantasyland to even see the Dedication ceremony because it's Press invite only. So everyone is going to be in other parts of the parks. It shouldn't be too busy though, easywdw has it as second recommended for that day. And Josh has already stated that he doesn't expect to be any increase in crowd level if the Mine Train does open that day, which as the days pass seems less and less likely.. but we'll see. Get yourself a good touring plan and you should be fine.

Also, April 30th should be totally unaffected by the media event.

All I heard was media ever for invite only for seven dwarves mine train and possible something about mymagic. But other that everyone is being tight lipped. I can't find details. But it's May 1st - May 3rd I believe again haven't heard much. But you're right I had my whole grouping plan done two months ago. I'm gonna have to change it now and I work all week. I've got no time with Easter and everything else. Ugh haha but either way I'm just gonna be glad I'm going haha not trying to complain or anything.

Anyways. Thanks everyone for the advice and information. I'm glad I asked for it. :)
