I am in no way offended by the folks in this thread who disagree with me (though I didn't like being called a troll - I'm not that ugly ).

I think, although I do not presume to speak for others, that what soemof us are trying to say is that even though these little girls don't even know what 'sexy' is, that there are some creeps that will look at the dance and costumes in a sexual way. That sexualizes these young girls, whether intentional or not. I don't think that just because they danced this dance that they will become strippers or promiscious.

On a little boy, that pose would be very offensive. A parent that would allow a little boy to wear that AND pose that way would be a bit off in the head, no?

If my daughter's dance teacher picked lingerie as my daughters dance competion outfit, I would not have let my daughter participate in it. Even if you take out half the dance moves, the outfits put it over the top.

Ok, I just showed it to my hubby and my 11 year old DD. They both went WOW, they are good. DH said absolutely nothing wrong with the costumes and he really had to think about the dance being sexual. He said and I quote."To an adult it had sexual moves, to these very talented girls they are doing a fun dance to a fun song, nothing more"

He also said he would rather see that than pageants. Atl least these girls have talent.

I see a big difference between a kid walking down the street and a girl in a scanty costume gyrating but we are never going to agree on this or much else it seems so I will bow out and go watch The Middle! Have a good night!
