I keep reading all these trip reports and questions on plainning d-land trips and I'm getting jealous. I'm a SoCal local. Literally grew up on the same street as Disneyland about 5 miles away. I actually want to plan a trip to D-land. I want to go spend about 3-4 days. Maybe get the costco package or something. It sounds like such a different experience that way and I want to experience it for myself. My DH thinks I'm nuts. Am I? I know we can save a ton of money staying home but it doesn't seem the same. (I still live in the same neighborhood.) KWIM?

Oh well just wanted to get that out. Thanks guys!

not crazy at all!! we're also from southern cal, and just got aps recently. and reading everyone's trip reports & questions & such...it's like a whole new park! when we go, we don't stay over...but last spring, we had the opportunity to stay at the park for several days. (had a conference which was held at dh...so of course, i jumped at the opportunity!) anyways...it's so much nicer to stay on site, and play at dl!! so, no...not crazy at all!! have fun!! :flower:

Not at all! It makes a vacation when you stay in a hotel, especially if you can stay onsite. I'm sure if I lived there we'd be there all the time, and going home at the end of the day. But even then I'd want to stay and make a vacation out of it! Not crazy at all!

I agree! It's not a vacation unless you stay overnight at a hotel, atleast that's how I feel. I don't know if you'd need a package since you probably have AP's living there, but I would definitely book a hotel and stay a few nights. Then no worries about driving or parking, etc.

Have fun!

you shouls plan a trip to WDW!! Then your DH wouldn't think you were crazy, and you would have the best of both worlds!!! Literally!!LOL!! I don't know if you have been to WDW, but I grew up in Long Beach, and we went to DL alot, but WDW is a different experience, and well worth doing!!!:cutie:

I agree with the others, not crazy at all! Part of the fun of the trip is the planning and anticipation. Maybe you could suprise your DH with a weekend "getaway" to DL. It is nice to eat out, not have to cook, or make the bed if you don't want to! It would be like a vacation from everyday life. :goodvibes
