Am I Crazy to even start to explore this?

We live in SE PA and often go to Hershey for a weekend in May. So, being Disney obsessed since purchasing DVC, I started to look into airfare for around Memorial Day. If I can get specials on Airtran or Southwest, all 4 of us can fly to MCO for about the price we would pay for our hotel in Hershey for 2 night.

1. Would we have any chance of getting a Studio (not picky where) for anytime between May 25 and June 1?

2. How likely would it be that we could pay cash of either the Fri or Sat of such a stay--we are point poor (but note that we have some points--otherwise I wouldn't have gotten this crazy idea!)

3. Any advice/comments appreciated!

It's hard to not want to start Going instead of just Obsessing!

I really think all of May is gone - but who knows you might get lucky.

also check delta - when I could get SW for $95 - I got Delta for $101 - because of SW.

Delta is a full participate in their Magical Express - SW is not.

You still get to ride for free - but you have to get your own luggage. that is definitely worth $6 for me.

I called this week to check on studios for May 26-May 31 and OKW was available. I spent too much time deliberating though and airfares went up. We are going next week so the trips would probably be too close together. (I also want to make sure I have enough points for my 40th next year).
So yes I think it is possible and you're not crazy for considering it but I wouldn't wait to long to decide

There is always something open. The okw still has something open. I called today. I added a 1 bed at BWV a few days ago.

NicieMouse: I think my DH thinks I'm crazy for trying to fit in a trip in May when we're going in Nov--you make me feel better!!

SSDonut: You can tell your dh that there is someone out there crazier than you. Those annual passes are just too tempting and ours expires May 29. Our kids are old enough now where we can't take them out of school anymore and we didn't have any snow days this year which added to the temptation. But I have given the idea up and dh is relieved but he knows I am expecting a big trip next April for my birthday. Good luck with whatever you decide.
