Am I crazy? Hall of Presidents Question??

When we went to the Hall of Presidents this past trip, I was surprisedthat there was seating because I was sure it used to be standing room only. As a matter of fact that is the main reason why we did not go in during our last trip in 2003 because I figured DD wouldn't do well with it. Am I remembering wrong? I know Timekeeper is standing, too, maybe I am confusing it with that? Can anyone help? Thanks!

I'm know that for at least the past 15 years it has had seeting.

Timekeeper is standing only. Remember "lean rails". Hall of Presidents is a large sit down theater. It has been at least since 1996. I can't say for sure about any time before that.

It had seating back in 1976 when I went, so I am thinking that you are misremembering the attraction, or thinking of another one.

yup, been a sit down as long as I can remember. Always a nice rest in the A/C during the middle of the day.

its definately sit down because I fell asleep once during it :confused3

Thanks everyone-I *am* going crazy! LOL Honestly, I had vague memories of standing and watchng it in the late 80's, but I guess I was just misremembering. I may have been remembering the Cyclorama in Gettysburg-which has a similar "look" as the movie in the begining. Thanks again!

I first went in '89 and it was seating then also. I think it's always been a theater with seats. I also remember kids with laser pens slumping in their seats in '98 and pointing at the stage. I've seen the cyclorama in Gettsyburg a couple of times too, and don't remember the similarity, but I do remember standing for it.

The HOP is the best place to take a snooze. You can't do that if you're not sitting down! :teeth:

I was thinking of the part with the movie in the begining of HOP where they pull the sides of the curtain back and it is circle vision. I guess that reminded me of that. I can't explain it! LOL

Well just an FYI, the Cyclorama is currently undergoing a $9mil. restoration in preperation to go on display in the new Gettysburg visitors center.

I know, my DH is heartbroken. We went last year to see it for the last time before the restoration began. But he knows if they don't do anything now, it will be lost (he is a huge Civil War buff and belongs to the Friends of Gettysburg-we go nearly every year)

There was an attraction within MK that required you to stand during a 360-degree movie. It was sort of an IMAX-type movie with lots of scenery, etc. I always hated this, since the last I wanted to do while watching a movie was stand. That attraction has probably been gone for 20-25 years now. It was similar to the attraction in the China pavilion in EPCOT.

Is the American Adventure in EPCOT standing or sitting? I have never been there, but thought we might see it this year.

It is seated. I HIGHLY recommend this show. It may be one of the best kept secrets in all of WDW. These days, I'd say it's quite a bit more interesting show than HoP, in my opinion.

Keep in mind, there is usually sort of a "pre-show" where you stand and watch some performers sing some patriotic songs. I love this part. Finally, before the AA/movie part begins, you walk toward the theater in the back of the pavilion.

Just wanted to point out that the HOP is not circle vision. It has a movie part that has a large screen, but it never is all around you like a circle vision movie. I haven't been in there for a while, but I am not sure that the movie starts out small and then they pull the curtains back to make the screen bigger. I am sure that happens in the American Adventure (but also, that is not a circle vision, just a larger screen).

It's sitting in a very nice, large and cool theater with comfortable seeats. My MIL has been to American Adventure at least 20 times, but she has never seen the whole thing because she always falls asleep in the comfortable seats at some point during the show.

The current attraction that is in that area in Tomorrowland is Timekeeper (which is open seasonally and you still stand for). Here's the past history of what was in there with the opening dates.:
America the Beautiful (11/25/1971), Magic Carpet 'Round the World (3/16/1974), American Journeys (9/15/1984), now The Timekeeper (11/21/1994)

Sorry I thought it was Circlevision. Well, I guess now I know! I just keep putting my foot in my mouth today, huh?
