Am I to go to WDW and not have ADR's? My trip is planned Oct 8-13 and I only made a few ADR for the week. My plan is to take advantage of the food and wine festival and have a few small meals through out the week instead of large sit down dinners. Hubby and I were in the World last October, but we had the free dining package so we didn't get to sample any of the vendor treats in Epcot.

It doesn't sound like you want any TS meals, so no, you aren't crazy for not having reservations. If you do want to have some, yes, you should make reservations. That is not exactly a slow week; it falls right over Columbus Day! It was pretty crowded that week in 2004.

Don't forget free dining. Although the promotion ends 9/30, guests checking in by that date could get free dining up to ten more days. Things might not die down until after 10/9. Do you have an idea of where you want to eat? Call dining and see what kind of times are still available.

Anymore I would say it's best to make ADR's. It's so hard now with the dining packages. If you call and don't have any luck just try in the mornings when you wake up. I found that they seemed to open a few more spots the day of. Could be wrong though. It's just what I've found.

If you are not in the mood to eat at full service than no you are not crazy. Our last trip to WDW, I only made three ADR's before the 10 day trip. We had eaten so much table service the trip before, that we decided we didn't want to be so restricted and spend so much money. It sounds like you are not asking if you can make ADR's last minute or be a walk up but rather can you eat good meals, esp. cs and F & W samples at Epcot and not feel jipped or disappointed. And my answer is yes! Many of the cs places at Epcot in particular are very tasty and obviously not something you get sick of like burger after burger. If you are at all unsure, you can always make a few more if you are able, and then cancel them as you get closer if you don't want to go that route. And I think you could still get into some places, in particular some of the resort restaurants like Kona or Olivia's. I've also had good luck making last minute ADR's at MGM for Sci Fi and Prime Time since those aren't considered good deals on the DDP.

DH and I go to the F&W in Epcot every year. We snack the countries and the stands for lunch (we share everything) and do not eat a TS dinner. Last year we split a rotisserie chicken plate at Tangerine Cafe for a late dinner. You can fill up on the tasty foods the stands have to offer but beware, the prices are high for the small portion you get

hey if you want to eat in TS restaurants and you dont have ADR's then, yes your nuts, especially since you know better.

However, if you have free dining and it doesnt matter anyway, and what you want to do is graze at the F and W festival, then that is what you should do! Its your vacation! You can also use TS meal vouchers at CS and you get more of a choice too. There are so many good ones now, esp in DTD. WGE's is a CS im looking forward to as much as i am le cellier!

Actually you can use free dining until Oct 10 ( incase of late check in on Sept 30)

I arrive Sept 30th but plan to have all the food scarfed down by the 8th :) LOL

we went Oct 11-18 last year and had the dining plan. We didn't make any ADR's but were still able to eat at most of the places we wanted. It wasn't easy and some of our ressies were late lunch or late dinners but it still worked out. So much so that this year we made all ADR's. HA!HA! We just wanted to have a better plan. We used our snack options last year to eat apps at the F&W since we always seem to have leftover ones at the end of our stay. Good Luck!
