Am I crazy...cancel Spoodles and go to Kona

I have an ADR made at Spoodles for our upcoming trip. After looking at the menus more carefully I really think we will enjoy Kona better. Am I making a mistake? Spoodles menu seems very limited and everything on the Kona menu sounds good.

IMO, you're not. I'd choose Kona over Spoodles any day. The food there is spectacular!!

We've been to Kona several times and loved it! Never been to Spoodles, so I can't really comment one way or the other.

OK.. and on the other side of the fence, I prefer Spoodles over Kona Cafe. I have always had a good meal at Spoodles, twice I have eaten at Kona and not been impressed..

I enjoy Kona for breakfast, but LOVE Spoodles for dinner!

We'll be there on Saturday night for our first meal of our vacation...

Of course, now that I've heard about their Kilahuea dessert, I might just have to give it a try too!

I'd pick Kona - EXCELLENT FOOD, smaller venue with less noise and commotion, great service, and closer to the MK. While I've enjoyed Spoodles, I feel it is crowded, noisy, and the food is good, but not exceptional (the olive/hummus appetizer is great and I yearn for the sangria though).

Since everyone here is so helpful and will offer differing opinions, I'd base the decision on where you are most likely to be before/after. Does a MK resort restaurant fit or does the Boardwalk? I'm sure you won't be disappointed with either, so I'd let location be the deciding factor.

I haven't eaten at Kona yet. Kona and 'Ohana are absolutely on my list...

Spoodles, however, was excellent. And we discovered that you can order a sides to go with entrees if you can't eat what's on the menu. For example I ordered a side of chicken for my mom. And a side of some vegetable I can't recall.

We have eaten at Kona several times and have always enjoyed it. But .. Spoodles is our favorite restaurant at WDW and we would not even think of not going there at least once.

We ate at Spoodles last week for dinner and Kona for lunch. The food at Spoodles was outstanding, and it was my favorite dining experience at WDW. Kona's food was delicious, too. And I don't feel I can compare lunch against dinner.

I have to agree- go with whichever food appeals to you more.

I'd pick Kona over Spoodles any day now - it's one of our favorites at Disney. Now that the menu's been downsized, I'm not sure that we'll be back to Spoodles, though it used to be one of our favorites as well.

They both still sound so wonderful. We will be dining after Fantasmic so the Boardwalk is closer. However, as some of you have said, the smaller menu at Spoodles has less appeal to me now. Kona seems to have more seafood options on it which is a plus for my family. I think I may ask my family to look at the menus and decide. They usually leave all the planning to me and just go where I tell them.

I loved Spoodles for dinner. It wasn't something we had planned beforehand, but it ended up being one of our favorites on our October trip. We all had something different (4 adults) and all enjoyed our entrees. I've only had breakfast at Kona, so I can't speak to their dinner menu.

But if you feel like you like the menu better at Kona and definitely want to try it, go for it. I don't think you'll be disappointed, Kona seems to be an all around pleaser.

KONA!!! Our new favorite restaurant since going there last trip. It was delicious service fantastic and not crowded! LOVED it. It goes on the must do list. Spoodles is great too but in a different way- more atmoshere and my DH loved his food I thought mine was just ok- not terribly flavorful. But I would try it again and get what he got if I can remember what the heck it was.

Both are very good. In your OP you said that the menu choices at Kona suit your tastes better so that's the way I would go. I personally would pick Spoodles but you have to decide based upon your food preferences, not mine.

I would pick Spoodles over Kona any day of the week. We ate at Spoodles a few weeks ago and loved it. My wife had the Rigatoni Pasta and I had Salmon and they were both very good. Spoodles has always been one of our favorite places to eat at WDW. We also ate at the Flying Fish next door and just loved it too. I had the Red Snapper and it was my favorite meal of our trip.

We ate at Kona for the first time in October and it was one of the unexpected highlights of our trip. Great food and excellent service. We had no complaints about anything, and enjoying checking out the Poly after our meal. We're seafood people, too, and would choose that over Spoodles menu anytime.

Just to throw a wrench into the works, I just ate at Spoodles last week and the food and service were superb. Definately exceeded my expectations. Great atmosphere as well!
