My kids will be 3 1/2 and almost 5 this trip... we are really thinking no stroller this year.

Last year we hated it... we hated it on the buses and we hated getting through crowds and the boys really didn't want to be in it much. We found ourselves parking it for HOURS at a time and then coming to get it only to move it to a new "parking place" in a different part of the park.

Now there was a couple times we had to carry a sleeping 2 year old but that only happened in place we couldn't have had the stroller anyway...i.e. a dark show.....

I don't even know what to do... the rental prices are crazy and I don't think our double will hold the weight of both of them anymore... plus it is such a pain.

From my personal expierence I would say yes you are crazy but it seems as though you didn't mind having to carry your kiddos if need be. When we go into the parks we are there till the very end so mine do fall asleep some. You can always rent from disney once you are there and see you need the stroller or you can rent from www.orlandostrollerrentals.com they are cheaper than disney and the double stroller has a 100 pound weight limit.

I would agree, yes- crazy. i would not dream of taking my 5 yr old without one

Definitely crazy!:rotfl: There is a lot of walking, way more than my kids ever could do and especially if you're there a number of days in a row, that makes them even more tired. It's just an option, my my experience with a tired or crabby young one, give them a bottle water, a snack and a short break from walking and you'll have a brand new kid.

Up to you...

Ugh... you guys are making me second guess myself... :lmao: But if I rent a stroller elsewhere or bring our own... I am quit sure my husband will strangle me... possibly literally... and renting will cost me like a million dollars for 8 days... :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I don't know what to do....

Yep. Crazy. :)

But if you hated having a stroller last time, maybe it wouldn't be a disaster for you to skip it next trip. Since you don't think the stroller would hold the kids anyway, why not try it without and see how it goes. You can always rent if you need to and by renting, you won't have to deal with the stroller on the buses.

Personally, I couldn't do without one. We rent a double. Yes, the price is ridiculous but I just factor it into our budget for the trip. It's a small amount when you look at the total cost of a trip to WDW.

Maybe that is what I will do... wait and see and rent if neccessary

Last time were were there 7 days.... lugged the stroller around 4 days and then left it in the room the last 3 days... So we have done it without... but we had it there if we needed/wanted it...

I have to go with definitely crazy.

Look at the budget board - they have a double stroller (that holds two children up to 75 lbs. each) for only $18 for your entire stay.

I vote not crazy! IF you take afternoon breaks and rent a stroller on days that you go, go, go. How long are you going? Are you planning breaks? Are there any break days? I think those factors will help you decide.

I would not call you crazy - you may call youself that after day 1 when you carry your kids around most the day. You know your kids better than anyone and use that to guide your decision. I would be prepared to rent a stroller if you need to. I understand what you are saying the strollers are a hassle but it maybe more of one without it, it is nice to have to carry your bag and drinks etc.. too.

My DS was just 4 and DD 5 when we used our stroller for the last time.

It is so much easier without one.

Good Luck!

Not crazy-Last trip our DD 3 1/2 barely rode in it, only on the big MK day, and even then not until the evening. We take breaks though and I know this trip she will be turing 5 and probably wont ride at all. Bring in and keep in the room just in case. You just never know with kids!!

I know I'm in the minority here, but it sounds from your posts like you really should NOT take it. If you were just parking and leaving it so much last time, and even left it in the room some days, then probably the benefits are not worth the hastle for YOUR particular family.

I'd say go stroller-free. You can always rent one at the park if there's ONE day they're just tired and want it - even if you rent a single and they take turns.

Just a thought, what about a cheepo single umbrella stroller that they could use as needed. You could probably get one for less than 50 which is less than a rental but may serve well for those times when a stroller would be really good.

I would take two umbrella strollers. If you don't have one or two, then check out a re-sale store (we have Children's Orchard near us) to see if you can get a good deal on used ones.

Especially since you will have Grandma & Grandpa along so maybe they could wheel the kids back to the resort while you & dh get to stay out later! :thumbsup2

i personally wouldn't dream of doing disney without a stroller at those ages - but it sounds like you really prefer to not have one. i say you give it a try. worst case scenario - you find that you need one and rent it later in the day. i don't think that would be the end of the world.
