I love to visit Disney World! Don't get me wrong - we don't go all the time or anything (probably 3-4 times a year). My family (Parents, Sister & DH and me) all are new DVC members but, I am the only one that has become obsessed with planning our magical gatherings. We are planning a big family gathering every Oct. in the Grand Villa for about 8 days but, that is not enough for me. I want more....and it seems like I am starting to make them mad.

My DH and I just stayed at BWV for our anniversary in Jan. FUN! but, I felt sad that we did not take our baby...and now all I can do is think about planning a trip for my sister, mom, DH and my 18 month old DD for May. I am not sure that they want to go....but, I am so excited that they don't want to hurt my feelings. (Remember we are going again in Oct.) I am beginning to feel all alone ---is there anyone else out there that likes to plan and go to WDW as much as I do????
I know that it is expensive....we all know that- I just don't want to ruin the magic by going too often. Is that possible?

Not possible. Only creates a greater urgency to return. We were there in Jan 05, Oct 04 and Jan 04. We didn't have any other vacations planned after we returned in mid-January, so we were going through withdrawal. We had planned to go to DL in June, plus hit the national parks along the way and the California coast, but we just couldn't stand waiting again until Jan 06. So we have another trip planned for June (with a stop at the Gulf Coast for 4 nights) and our Jan 06 trip planned. We've just about gotten out of borrowing points for a while.

Thanks! I am going to show this post to my family...so if anyone else has the same situation going on...please do tell - and have a MAGICAL DAY!!!!

I totally agree with you.....Once I decide on a trip I feel like I am obsessed with it. I have spent at least 4 hrs a day looking at hotels ect. on the computer trying to decide where to stay...on disney property or not for the past week. Usually we have stayed at deluxe but we need to cut back now. So, I feel the need to research every single option!!!!!I know you are not the only one out there. I have read about others spending alot of time doing the same things too. Good luck, enjoy it...maybe keep it a secret on how much time you spend. It wouldn't be fun anymore if everyone wanted to do it:flower:

I love the planning too. My family counts on it--"where are we eating tonight?"
We went for MNSSHP in October. We had so much fun we went back for MVMCP in December. DH and I got away for long weekend strolling and eating our way through epcot in Jan. ...and we're going back in March! We live in Illinois so it is wonderful to get away in the cold weather. I like to plan and rad the boards and find affordable ways to make it happen. we do little parts each trip. So have fun planning!!! :flower:

I am not alone!!!
I do worry that this is becoming obsessive, however. Trips in Jan, Mar, June, Oct, Dec. '04 and Jan, Feb '05. Wasn't planning to return until Oct. and Dec. '05 but won't make it that long so am trying to plan a May '05 trip. I think that what has happened to me is that it DOES feel like home the more I go, and I get homesick -- literally. Northwest Airlines and National Car benefit from this addiction!

I was planning when I didn't even have a trip planned - make sense? I made a ressie for Sept. @ BWV yesterday, now I can officially start my *real* planning! :cool1:

I am a "crazy planner" too. I drive my husband nuts at the 6 month out mark with "where do you want to eat" questions for my agenda. I love to help others too. I am the "go to" girl for Disney vacation info. Funny thing was, I thought I knew it all, then I found the DIS. So...many...others...with...greater...knowledge!!!

If I lived closer I'd be there twice as much as I am now! We went four times last year and that was "just right." This year we are back to twice and it has been hard. Anyhow, you may find that your family loves Disney but doesn't want to go as often as you, for various reasons. It is costly, and not everyone has lots of vacation days available. It is actually hard for ME to imagine WHY people wouldn't want to go as much as possible, but everyone is different. Just keep the lines of communication open and realize that some of the trips may be just you, hubby and your little one. Your "Magical Gathering" will be special when it's all of you together.

Just today at work someone told a third person we were having a meeting with that I was "one of those people" who "go to Disney all the time".

We go 2-3 times year.

Sorry honey - but under those rules - you go all the time!!!!!!!!!!

I love it.

Gotta agree. I wish I could "plan" that many vacations in one year!!!!

If you've got pixie dust in your veins (and it sounds like you do! ;) ),
this is the least of your worries! :earsboy:

Thanks ya'll. Now I know I'm not crazy!! We have gone 1X every 17 months since my 4.5 yodd was born and I am sooo addicted!! I think I'll start planning an October trip. I'd like to go to MNSSHP. Problem is, nobody in my family is as crazy about Disney except me! I am sure my younger dd would love to go, DH has refused to go this year :sad2: , which is not a problem, we'll have a girl's trip  7yodd may not want to go either. None of friends or extended family even want to go!!! Mommy and 4.5yodd may hop a plane in Oct and head to the magic by ourselves! We are on a budget so I hate to waste that extra bed in the hotel :confused3 I couldn't stand for it to go to waste, so I will start searching for roommates.. Can you imagine people who don't WANT to go to disney??? :confused3
I can't get enough... :wave2:

JGR,

If you are crazy then we are crazier!!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc
We go three or four times a year. We were at WDW in Jan and now we have decided that we miss it so much we are going down for a long weekend Mar 4-8!!!!

Join our club of Disney bound again!!

"They only thing that bothers me is insufficient applause...[and not enough vacation days at WDW]."

Living in PA, my DW, DS, and I would kill or seriously maime to be able to go to WDW that often (and I've been there 16 times).
