Same here....I start vacation on Thursday and with the holiday, it translates to a 2 day week next week. I will go to my office to print my Soutwest boarding passes and do some small but necessary work on Thursday 9/7, but I should only be there a half hour or so.

DW is picking up our dry cleaning as I type this, and started to pack us up yesterday.

Can you believe that the people boarding the Magic tomorrow will be getting off as we are boarding??? After a year of planning it is finally here!!!!  :cool1: :cool1:

I will probably be around the Mickey Pool with DD and DS around the time of the DIS meet, so I will drop by and say hello :wave2: :wave2:

The weather looks good, so hopefully we will have smooth seas and lots of sun.

I think that those of us with DD's and DS's will all be at the mickey pool. That's why I like the idea of meeting at the drink station right there at the Mickey Pool.

Ready to party NOW!!!!! :cool1: :cheer2: :dance3:

Hello all,
1 week from right now I will be on the plane to Vegas, then onto Orlando.
Started to pack last weekend got all my clothes in to my small bag, so I have room to brings lots of stuff home. :)
I have 5 more days of work, Sat then Tue to Fri. then off to the airport.

Can I ask if anyone who is making a beer/soda run on the way to the ship, could you pick up something for me, plmk. I taking the DCL buses from the airport to the ship Sat. I get in at 6:15AM and hope to be on the first bus to the ship.

After all the talk about the what wines, got me thinking about doing the wine and/or the beer classes on board, the AZ Party Dogs are allways trying to get me to drink with them. I don't drink so may be a nice way to find something I would like to drink. :drinking1

I see it looks good for us not to have a hurricane for our cruise, been luck as all the cruise we never had any stroms. They are saying AZ could get some of Hurricane John.

Last night remarked how nice it would be to leave earlier .. SOOO.. called the airline..and paid THE BUCKS to change our flights to Thursday. :woohoo: To stressfull to change the countdown counter. Do you think we are abit eager to start our vacation!! I would imagine some are leaving a few days before our cruise.. for those travelling soon..TRAVEL SAFE..

One week from right now we'll be underway and just getting started!! I have already started packing the ancillary stuff, rolling cooler with some choice beverages and of course some Jimmy Buffet CDs for the varanda! Next Saturday (Key West), we will be doing our own excursion, the Duval Crawl :drinking1 . If anybody is interested, let me know! I promise a good time for all that partake.

Guess what. As of right now we can officially say that we leave on Saturday. No more of that next week stuff. It is just days away. Well, officially there are 4 days of work left. In reality, 3 if I can stand it. :confused3

I may physically be at work, but mentally..... :boat: :drinking1

Yeah, officially 4 days of work, but lets face it . . . . just how productive do you think we are going to be? Might as well just call in and take the week off now and go to Cocoa Beach.

I like your way of thinking. Won't work for me, but I like it :thumbsup2

One week from right now I plan to be in the Rainforest Room :goodvibes

That's great! I have contemplated calling Southwest about getting on a flight for Thursday instead of Friday since I technically am on vacation beginning Thursday. As much as I would like this, my kids would miss another day of school, it would cost a few hundred more dollars that I don't have budgeted....the thought was nice anyway!

I'm so there. We leave on Friday morning for MCO, but I have to get everything done between now and then. I expect that I, too, will be putting in 10 hour days to get this all sorted out before I go. Can anyone tell me why it is that when you plan to go on vacation, there always seems to be so much more work to be done before you leave than there is normally?

I've already had to give up on the swell new sundress I was making (it's just not going to happen with everything else going on). We're in a major packing frenzy right now (not just our stuff, but stuff for our DD to take to Grandma's house). I'm sure that by the time Friday rolls around, I'll be ready for a VACATION!

PS. John, PM me about what you'd like, since we're stopping at a store on the way to the ship.

Tropical Depression # 6 is forming. Ours was the first Disney cruise shortened ( left 3 days late) by hurricaine Francis So I am alittle weather anxious .Lets hope its nothing! Personally as long as we leave I could care less where we cruise. Time will tell..

ThankYou Sarangel, I sent you an pm. :thanks:

I have been reading some of the post on the main board, and the one about what not to miss got me thinking, there are something I have not done on the past 3 cruise, which I'm going to try/do this cruise.
I have never been to the night clubs at night, just for the castaway club meeting, never been in the spa/gym, not even to look at it, never been in the pools/hot tubs, or done any of the ship tours, so I hope to do all or most of them this time.

Will call Tues. to order my basket from Shirley, she did such a nice job on the last one I order, I can't wait to see what she does this time.

Ok, off to pack and watch POC I (still have not seen it) so when on the ship I will understand POC 2, I'm in for movie night. popcorn::

Sharon I wouldn't worry too much. Not yet at least. It won't get here in time for us to have problems leaving Port Canaveral. Let's just have :goodvibes and :sunny:

I just did some rough tracking on TD6. On Saturday when we leave, it should be about 1600 miles away, so it will not effect our departure. However, with the current speed, it could possibly effect when we return. Maybe with any luck, our cruise will be extended and you'll get your three days back!!

I don't really see that happening, because I would have to be awfully lucky. And I'm not :lmao: You see if we get delayed, DCL will give us incentives, discounts, etc. because we were inconvenienced. That would also mean that my 11 day Wonder would be delayed. Same thing with incentives, discounts, etc. That would mean that I would likely be on the ship for 18 days regardless and gets lots of perks. No, sorry to say, I'm not that lucky :sad2:

Walter and I look forward to meeting some of you on board. Just hoping the developing tropical depression (which will end up being Hurricane Florence), doesn't give us too much trouble. Looks like it will still be pretty far out in the Atlantic when we leave - so let's all keep our fingers crossed.

Hi all... like everyone on this thread, we're eagerly awaiting the start of our trip (ours begins Friday when we arrive at DSSR for Friday night). What plans have been made to identify everyone from this thread? Will there be a particular time of day/week/location/t-shirt color/etc.? We're putting our plans together and want to be sure we're prepared.

Best wishes,
David & Will :earsboy: :earsboy:

The only meet we have planned at the moment is on Saturday the 9th at 3:00 PM by the Mickey Pool (at the end with the food). Mike & I will have on Lime Green shirts & be pretty easily reconizable. After that, I'm guessing that we'll have a fairly free-form set of meets (we may set stuff up that afternoon, or work out stuff on the fly).

I'll try and bring along a sign to put on one of the tables with "disboards" written on it. Sorry, but I own a lot of loud shirts, but none that are lime green!!

My DW is already planning my wardrobe and is going to insist that I wear some type of green shirt. I don't think I have any lime green shirts though.

My DW makes fun of me for coming the DIS and is insisting I match my fellow DISers.
