I received a phone call today and found out that I will NOT be receiving both my Castaway Club onboard credit ($200) and the Am Ex Carribean Magic onboard credit ($250).

Apparently, the reservation clerk I had made several of these errors and although some people have received them while onboard - mine was discovered and now corrected.

ALSO, I will NOT receive both the Castaway Club onboard credit ($200) and the Am Ex Parks and Ports onboard credit for the December 7 night land/sea package.

So after all my ranting and ravings about getting both, I am a bit poorer and humbled by the Mouse!

Rae

P.S.
I will no longer use American Express as my Credit Card - but I think you probably guessed that one! ; )

I am so sorry to hear that RAE
How ridiculous that they would take it away. I hope all of our insistence on getting it did not lead them to this point. I hope you will enjoy your cruise anyway. I am with you What is the use of using American express if you can't have the benefits. I hope you expressed your disappointment to both DCL and American Express.

Life does go on! The DCL Supervisor Diedra made one comment that I remember, "If it sounds too good...."
Well, I would like to give some fault to myself for believing both DCL Rep and Am Ex Rep with their programs, but you'd think that the ones offering would know better.

Hey, I doubt if the inquiries you and others made really did anything - and if so, well, hey, it's no big deal. I'd rather everyone get the fair and just treatment than just one or two - that's why I kept insisting that people be persistant and get what I got.
And that's why I have no problem informing people now that it was done BUT won't be done!

It will take a while but they will credit my Am Ex the $58.00 I paid in July for the Am Ex Caribbean Magic AND for my December 7 night land/sea - that was $125.50.

Yes, I did tell Diedra that I was VERY disappointed in the way information was given and she made no consolations in this - not that I expected anything either. Am Ex just said, "Well, it's Disney's policy - not ours!" Nothing like finger pointing!!! I won't be using Am Ex again - that's a given!

So life goes on and at least we will have this taken care of before we leave next Saturday.

Take care and don't sweat the small stuff!
Rae

Sorry to hear this but remember Rae that there is a Rumor that AMEX is not going to be the official Card in the new year! Maybe that's why they are being mean!

Enjoy your trip anyway!

There was an article about a Disney Visa (merger with Banc One) - so that's probably a true rumor.

Again, regarding the double onboard credits - if the program was not going to be for ALL eligible customers then it shouldn't have been for only a select few (myself included). I never intended to try to "get one over" on either them or fellow travelers - if the offer wasn't made then I wouldn't have accepted - and if they made the offer to me then others who were eligible for it should have also been made the offer.

This was it's fair for all, even if that means I have it taken off both my cruises -

Glad I haven't gotten any of those "I told you so" messages!!! Seems our group is more mature than that! Thankfully!!!!

Clear skies, calm waters and happy sailing for all -
Rae
