Always Shuttle / Greyshuttle / VEA from Orly - DLP??

Sorry for all these questions this evening - trying to get prepared LOL!

I've just been looking at the times of going on the Metro / RER to Hotel L'Elysee where we are staying (one stop from DLP on the RER) and it looks like it takes 1.5 hours to do (with 2 changes!) so I am now reconsidering!!

I've looked at the VEA and it'd be 56E for the 4 of us (2 adults 2 children), but for a shuttle with Greyshuttle its 65E (plus you get a 10% discount if you do a return journey so 117E in total, and with AlwaysShuttle its 114E return.

Does anyone have any feedback on either of these?

Our plane lands at 9.20am Wednesday and then going home leaves at 10.20pm Sunday so if we get the private shuttle (at least on the way home!) we can have a relaxing dinner in the parks before heading off - much less hassle than many changes on the RER / Metro!

I did look at BS Transport after good reviews on here but I see they charge 80E each way for the same journey so it seems silly unless these other 2 are awful to spend the extra really!

Also - are tips expected on these shuttles (both VEA / private?) and if so what amount are they usually?

What about booster seats for the children? They are 5 & 7 and obviously its law here for them to still have them (but we would have anyway even if it wasnt!).

Thanks in advance :)
Sadie

(v excited and trying not to burst and tell the kids before we set off LOL)

Hi there, welcome to the boards :)

Sorry - have no experience of the travel companies!

Sorry can't help with most things, but I don't believe tips are expected, didn't seem like it while we were there.

Just make sure you watch out for crooks. Without trying to worry you, we were outside CDG after just getting off the plane waiting for the bus, and this guy in a suit walks up to us ordering us to pay him 32 Euros as the driver will be "busy" when he gets here. No chance. I told him we have to pay by card, and he reluctantly told me we had to pay the driver then. He walked off into a bush a couple of minutes later. He had a Disney thing round his neck in an attempt to look half genuine, but I could smell a fish as soon as he approached us.

Thanks for the welcome & also for the info on crooks - I remember clutching my bag whilst we were in Paris last - pretty much wearing my rucksack on my front :D

Will have to watch out for con artists, though DH is normally quite good at reading people so hopefully.....

Hi Sadie

You might want to check that Greyshuttle price - the €65 on their website is not from GDG to Disneyland, I think it might be from CDG to central Paris hotels. I recently got a quote from them for €164 for the return trip next March and they have promised a booster seat. They have received very good reviews on Tripadvisor.

In the past I have used and recommended BS Transports, but I wasn't happy with the service on our last trip. The driver spent the entire journey to DLRP on not one, but two, mobile phones, switching between them in two languages. At one point he reached back to get a clipboard and started reading it   So instead of arriving relaxed, DH and I stumbled out of the car glad to arrive alive! Also they didn't have the booster seat we had requested. He promised one for the return journey, but it didn't materialise. He only used one phone on the way back.......:thumbsup2 Yes, I know, we should have complained.

Maybe this was a once off, but we're going to try Greyshuttle next time.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

we used eurominibus in jan and thought they were great they charged from cdg to disney 70 euros each way they were very effecient and had booster seats ready if needed , we have just booked with them again for oct they quoted 150 euros return this time

Thanks NMM - I just had a reply from greyshuttle and yes its 164 return, I guess the price on the website is to central paris as you say.

That makes AlwayShuttle the cheaper option.

So many decisions already to make LOL!

cleous - thanks I just looked at eurominibus and they are 85E to DLP from Orly (75 from CDG). But worth bearing in mind if we only book the one journey now!
:) Sadie
