Always Let Your (Preschooler) Be Your Guide. My First Trip Report! COMPLETE

:welcome: and Thanks for popping over! You're not too late, I don't update often enough :lmao:

Thanks for the compliments for DD. She'd be over the moon if she knew about all the nice things people are saying about her! princess:

We ran for the buses leaving Animal Kingdom, but the damage was done. We were all soaked – again. We decided to head back to POFQ. It seemed that everyone had the same idea, so the bus was really crowded, but some nice pre-teen boys offered their seats to Maddie and me.

Once back at POFQ it seemed that the rain had stopped, so we quickly changed (which pleased DD who likes to wear as many outfits as possible during any given day, and pleased me as it justified to DH that Maddie and I really DID need all of the clothes that I packed) and caught another bus to DHS.

DH and DD were very eager to check out Star Tours. DD was really hoping to see one of her favorite characters – CPO the golden robot. (Her dad cannot resist correcting her every time she says that. It makes him crazy)

When we got to DHS we went straight to Star Tours. Standby time was about 30 minutes, so we decided to wait it out. The parade passed by while we waited, so I got to see some of it, and it entertained Maddie for a while. Once we got inside, Maddie got a little nervous that the ride would be scary, but toughed it out. She was so excited to see the Golden Robot was driving our vehicle (I think)! I know nothing about Star Wars, but I’m pretty sure he was the “driver”.

After our trip through the galaxy we posed for a photo outside of the ride. DH wanted a picture for the Star Wars frame I bought him for his office.

Maddie decided to pass on the Muppets because she wanted to ride TSM again, so we went to check out how bad the wait was.

Love this fountain!

At 120 minutes we chose to pass on TSM. To appease Mads we did agree to get in line for the Meet and Greet across the street. The M & G area is really cute. There are lots of cute cutouts for the kids to pose with.

This photo is my favorite because I’ve called Maddie Stinky Pete for some time now.

Finally it was our turn, so we went into Andy’s room to meet Woody and Buzz.

As we left the Buzz and Woody we saw the Green Army Man. I adore the picture of DD and DH with him.

Since we were skipping TSM, Maddie was not about to let us get out of seeing a show too. We were going to the Voyage of the Little Mermaid. We waited about 15 minutes, but were happy to be out of the heat. As it got closer to show time, Maddie listened very closely to the instructions. She repeated “NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPY” for the remainder of the trip, and still does some times. I have no photos of the show because the flash photography police was seated to my left, but it was a good show. Maddie loved it and considers it a must-do for every trip.

After the VOLM, DH and I decided to check out single rider or FP options for RnRC. There was no single rider line that day, and FP return time wasn’t until 8 pm, so we skipped it. We did want to get some Photo Pass in front of ToT since Mads had been brave enough to ride it once. The PP photographer there that day was awesome! We ended up having a 15 minute photo shoot with him. Maddie was in heaven.

After our photo shoot, we decided it would be nice to take our time getting to dinner, so we left DHS and grabbed a boat bound for Epcot.

Another great post, I love the pic of maddie with her back to you as she was facing the army guy...she is posed like such a princess

Absolutely great photos. Glad to hear Star Wars Tours wasn't too scary for her - really anxious to do that one in April with our 9 yo DD.

Oh dear, two updates behind! I've had another one of those weeks which I'll explain on my TR:confused3

Jasmine and I had a very similar experience with a Make a Wish Family at DHS! We were waiting to see Mickey and Pluto (they were together which I was just over the moon for) and a wonderful CM came over and asked if we would mind if this very special family could jump in for a picture! Jasmine answered right away with "of course they can" to which this man behind us freaked! It caught me so off guard that it took me a minute to realize what he was yelling about! I almost lost my mind but kept my composure! I looked at him and said "I count my blessings every mornig that both her and I have the ability to stand and wait to see characters, unlike that little angel". He proceeded to call me a not very nice name and then yelled at the CM. Jasmine was so upset by this point she was crying (she was 12) and I simply looked at her and said "karma baby girl karma". I had no other words at that moment.

Your PP are amazing and Maddie is just about the cutest little thing! My favorite is the one with her and Tink as well.!!

Nice PP shoot!:thumbsup2

120 mins for TSM:eek: I just can't believe people actually get in a line that long. It's either right away or FP for us!

Yay on riding Star Tours! I'm glad Maddie decided to ride as well - we never got round to going on this during our trip so loved seeing the pics :thumbsup2

I agree in the pic of DH and DD with the Green Army Man is adorable. You guys sure got a lot of PP pics - great one of Maddie pointing at Stitch at the end.

I am glad Maddie enjoyed the "golden robot" ride! Too funny

You guys got some cute photos with woody and buzz and outside of ToT.

Can I join you for dinner at epcot, I am getting kinda hungry myself!

That one cracks me up. She is 100% princess all the time! :lmao:

Absolutely great photos. Glad to hear Star Wars Tours wasn't too scary for her - really anxious to do that one in April with our 9 yo DD.

She loved it! She wasn't scared of the ride at all, but the line made her a little nervous. She watches Star Wars all the time with her Dad and Uncle, so she was pretty familiar with the characters. I bet your DD will love it!

I hope you are relaxing if you've had a rough week. :goodvibes

I can't believe that people act that way! It's so sad. You are absolutely right, karma will come back for them. Poor Jasmine, if it's not enough to act that way in front of a MAW family, acting that way in front of the other children in line is ridiculous too! :headache:

Thanks! I made DH stop with us for plenty of PP. Had to get my money's worth on the CD :rotfl2: I think we got some really nice ones. Maddie's Tink photo is the winner though.

Nice PP shoot!:thumbsup2

120 mins for TSM:eek: I just can't believe people actually get in a line that long. It's either right away or FP for us!

That PP photographer was really great. He didn't just shoot that many pics for us, he did it for everyone. He had a line by the time we left!

120 minutes is way too long. I can't believe that anyone will wait for 2 hours!

Yay on riding Star Tours! I'm glad Maddie decided to ride as well - we never got round to going on this during our trip so loved seeing the pics :thumbsup2

They loved Star Tours! I liked it too, but I know nothing about Star Wars, so the details were lost on me :rotfl: I hope you'll try it out on your next trip!

I loved Maddie's "salute" with the Green Army Man. It makes me smile every time I see the picture. We had to make sure that we got our money's worth on that PP cd! :rotfl2: I think we did! She likes the Stick pic a lot, but wasn't sure what she was doing at the time>;)

"The Golden Robot CPO". :lmao: Kids are adorable when they say stuff like that.

I think it's funny too, especially since it makes her dad crazy!!

I don't think it's wrong that they went to meet Donald while you waited in line...mainly because we did the same thing at Epcot with Mary Poppins and Alice! :rotfl: I cannot believe how some people behave at Disney...like it is really going to hurt them to wait five extra minutes for a MAW child to go first. :confused3 They should count their blessings.

I think we may have had the same PP photographer outside ToT...took lots of time with us and did similar pics! He was great!

I was the exact same way about Star Tours when I was your DD's age... my Dad was over the moon that I loved Star Wars so much and I wanted to ride every time we went to MGM. Although, R2D2 was my man back then! :lmao:
Do you remember what combo of places / characters you got on your ride?

More great pictures! I'm impressed with how much park hopping you manage...once I get back to the resort, I usually feel like collapsing on the bed

I'm finally caught up! :cool1:

I can't believe the only bus issue you had was when you were going to your BBB appointment! Glad you made it on time, Maddie looked adorable!

When we were next in line Chip and Dale had to take a break. Just as they were returning, a CM approached me and asked if a Make a Wish family could jump in ahead of us. I said of course they could. The lady behind us overheard, and lost her mind. She was freaking out that anyone would be able to jump in the line—regardless of the situation. DH is usually pretty mild mannered, but he had to speak up. He told her that he’d love for her to go ahead of us if it meant that she would pipe down and not ruin the experience for the Make a Wish family. She looked at him as though she might like to hit him, and then grabbed her kids and stormed off. Wow.

Ugh...I was so annoyed when I read this. People are SO rude in Disney. It seems like with each trip I take, the more rude people are getting. I'm glad your DH spoke up, people cannot seem to handle being confronted when they act like jerks. :thumbsup2

The line for the Toy Story meet and greet looks so cute, I have always wanted to meet Buzz and Woody together, but the line is always so long. :confused3

Can't wait to read more!

:lmao: Glad someone else had the same idea!

There's a special place for people like that....

I bet it was the same photog. I can't remember his name, but he was from Long Island. What a great CM!

Such nice memories to have with you dad! I'm sure DD will look back on her Sunday morning movies with daddy fondly as well. Her fave is definately CPO :lmao:

I have only seen Star Wars once, so I honestly have no idea who or what was on our ride. Sorry! I'll ask DH and see if he remembers, I'll get back to you on that one :confused3

More great pictures! I'm impressed with how much park hopping you manage...once I get back to the resort, I usually feel like collapsing on the bed

Thanks! We tend to be commando types, plus Star Tours and Little Mermaid couldn't wait! :lmao:

I'm finally caught up! :cool1:

We had really good luck with the buses for most of the trip :thumbsup2 Only shared with POR in the afternoons and to DTD.

BBB was awesome. I really hope we get to do it again.

Those people made my blood boil. I will never forget their ignorance. I'm so glad DH said something. He was much more tactful than I would have been

The TS M&G is so cute. The wait was pretty bad at some points, but we only waited about 30 minutes or so. I suppose that the line for TSM makes that seem short! :lmao: I wouldn't say it's a must do (though DD probably disagrees with me :rotfl2:) since Woody and Jessie had a MUCH shorter line at MK. Maybe it's because there are so many other characters there?

Thanks for reading! More soon!

Fun that you had a great photoshoot with the PP person at HS! The pictures turned out beautiful!

Love the updates!! I can't believe the woman in line for Chip and Dale!!! Some people have no sense of what's right and wrong at all. Good for your husband for saying something to her!

Cute pics!!!

Thanks! That guy was awesome.

Cute pics!!!

Thanks! That woman was really out of line. I was proud of DH for handling it so calmly. I probably would have been rude.

Those pics from DHS are great!! I absolutely love it when you get a great photopass photographer who actually takes a bunch of pics in different poses!

You guys braved the Woody & Buzz line! I adore the look of the cue (though I've never seen it in person) but the line has always been horrible when I've been there :confused3

The PP CM was great! Maddie had so much fun.

The line was long, but very cute. Some character lines are really boring, this one was great!
