Once again, we are borrowed up the whazoo

Does anyone know if you can borrow into the following use year (ie 2007) at the beginning of your use year month or the end of your use year month?

Anybody have any guess on getting a ressie on an uber short notice in mid March? We have a Feb use year, betcha didn't guess that
We'd take any resort...studio or 1 BR?

Not sure I understand exactly what you are asking. If you have a Feb. UY, your points go from Feb. 1 to Jan. 31. You are currently in your '05 use year. If you have borrowed all your '06 points, you will only be able to borrow for stays that happen after Feb.1, '06.

As Diane said, your 2007 points can be borrowed for a reservation that will occur during your 2006 Use Year, which for you is Feb 1, 2006 through Jan 31, 2007.

You can make a reservation 11-months ahead for your home resort. So you can call today (June 1st, 2005) and make any reservation you want for any vacation that begins no sooner than Feb 1, 2006, with a checkout date no later than May 1, 2006. (May 1, 2006 is 11-months from June 1, 2005)

So if you're talking about a vacation in mid-march, 2006, you can call and make that reservation right now, and use borrowed 2007 points if necessary. You do NOT have to wait until Feb 2006 to make a March 2006 reservation, even if using borrowed 2007 points.

If you're looking for a non-home resort, then for a mid March 2006 vacation, you can call in mid August, 2005.

Thanks so much for all the replies....I should have been more specific. We are completely borrowed out of 2005 and 2006 pts. (In fact, I already rented more for this year....250 pts just doesn't go that far)

However, I'd like to go down in mid-March 2006 for a meeting. Nevertheless, our use year is February. So can I start to borrow 2007 pts on Feb 1st, 2006? or do I need to wait until the end of the month? Also, what kinda chance do you think I have at even getting a ressie within a month and a half or less?

You're right though....we bought into DVC in 2003 and now it's like Heroin....I just can't seem to get enough!!!

Hi Caskbill, I should have read your post better!!! Does that mean that I don't have to wait til 2006 to borrow 2007 pts? Because if that's the case, YAHOOOOOOO We will be all set! I thought I had to wait until Feb to borrow into the following year

That is what Caskbill is telling you.

You can make your ressies any time (as long as w/in 11/7 window).

The dates of stay just have to be after Feb. 1, 2006 when you can borrow from 2007.

As long as you are using your home resort, you can make the resssies now.
