We were lucky again on our recent trip to the NC mountains. We have learned that more often than not upon check-in, If you ask for a free up-grade they will give it to you. This past week we were at a hotel/suite and booked a standard room with a AAA discount. Upon check in we asked for a free suite upgrade. They offered one for only 10.00 for the stay but when we got our bill they did not add it on and just drew a happy face. Got a 2 room suite with a kitchenette in a very nice hotel for 76/night. It happens much of the time. Happened for us a couple times at WDW as well. NEVER hurts to ask!!
ALWAY ask for an hotel upgrade.
