What are the best options for viewing Wishes outside the park? I'm considering doing the Pirates & Pals Fireworks Voyage, but I occasionally see suggestions for other viewing areas. I think I remember someone saying they can be viewed from the Grand Floridian? Thanks for your help!!

The beach at the Poly is a nice place. Usually it's pretty empty, so you can bring a blanket and relax.

I thought I read that because of construction going on at the Poly, they are limiting the beach area to guests of the resort. Can anyone confirm this?

Certainly not outside the park. But we enjoy watching it from fantasy land. There are usually next to no crowds and if the park is still open you can hop on rides like Peter Pan afterwards with no lines.

Our only night in MK on our upcoming December trip will be during MVMCP. I was hoping to have already seen Wishes somehow. This would free us up for other Christmas Party activities or rides. I may have to book the Pirates Voyage. My kids will LOVE it...but I wanted to check out all my options first!

We were there earlier this month and allowed to go out to the beach with no problem, and we did not stay at the Poly. Every time we've watched the fireworks from there, there have been so few people, I don't think they would need to limit it honestly.

You can also view Wishes from a viewing area in the Contemporary. On the fourth floor, past all the shops and going toward the walkway to BLT, there is an outdoor patio area with benches offering an amazing view of the castle and the fireworks. I believe they also play the music there during wishes but I am not 100% sure on that. I hope you have a great trip! :)

I think you can still go tthe 4th Floor Deck at the Contemporary (If you are DVC members staying on property you could do the BLT lounge).

I also think the fireworks are a little different for MVMCP than regular Wishes.

What about nice places inside the park to watch it? We don't wait in line for the parades or fireworks at all. We usually just stop where we are and watch. It doesn't need to be a great spot....just a decent one. Once we watched from the area between Tomorrowland and the hub. It worked pretty well. Any other "off the beaten path" areas to watch from that doesn't require staking out a spot?

Last trip we watched from behind the castle right by the castle walls into New Fantasyland and it was pretty cool. But our new favorite place was Liberty Square right by the bell. You can see the fireworks great, and as long as you don't really mind not being able to see the front of the castle, it's a great spot. It was really nice to be able to immediately walk off and go ride something without fighting all the people! :)

Great place to watch but the night we were there, they did not pipe in the music. I am not sure if this is the norm. Without the music, wishes isn't worth watching in my opinion.

They are starting to limit and they will become more rigid once the pool construction starts. The east side of the main beach already is partially closed and the west side will be so as well due to the pool. They are going to ensure that the resorts guests have access. That's why they need to limit access. There is talk that this may become permanent when the DVC opens.

Another vote for behind the castle near New Fantasyland. Happened to be in front of Haunted Mansion near the carriage once...seeing the Mansion with fireworks as a backdrop was a spectacular experience.

I was going to recommend seeing them next to the Carousel, same place as you. Obviously if you haven't seen Wishes, do it in front of the castle. But after you've taken it in a few times, it's neat to catch it from different angles. I liked this spot because you got fireworks all around you! It also made you realize just how far away they launch the big ones...

I'm so sorry to hear they didn't play the music! I completely agree, without the music Wishes just isn't the same to me - I love to hear Jiminy! :)

If you do end up trying to watch them during MVMCP, try going to the Tomorrowland Terrace. On regular park nights, you can only view the fireworks from here if you purchase tickets to the dessert party. But, on special event nights they don't do the dessert party & anyone can get on the terrace.

Yes you can see them from the GF. We have watched them from the dock area after dining at Narcoossee's.
