I'm trying to get my journal ready for the circle journaling group, but I've never altered the journals before. I have looked at the pix on two peas, but I can't really figure out how they alter the covers to look like that. Has anyone done one of these? I need to know how to get started.

Thanks!

I have never done this either, but when I have seen it demonstrated on tv they used decopage paste. It dries clear and you can add your layers to the cover. I hope this helps!

Modge Podge decoupage paste - brush onto the journal cover and put the paper you want to use over the glue then seal it with another layer of Modge Podge over the paper. Most light weight elements can be modge podged on (e.g. stickers)- just make sure you seal them in by putting a coat of modge podge over everything.

Any heavier elements (like metal plaques) you probably want to hot glue on. You may even want to wait to hot glue it on when you get your journal back (as opposed to when you send it out on it's journey.)

i am so happy you asked this question!! i was wondering the same thing myself!!

I ended up using fabric to cover my journal with, and glued it on with the Mod Podge. It worked like a charm!
