Hi Nan! (and Lisa)....things are good. Boys are growing like weeds. My DS13 grew 6 1/2 " during the school year this year. I swear that if you stood quitely beside him you could hear the bones growing! He is now taller than everyone in the family (including his dad and his older brother!). He is going into 8th grade and I'm so proud to say that he made the National Honor Society this year. I'm one proud momma!
DS7 is my little jumping bean. Its so sad to know that my baby isn't a baby anymore. He loves school and can't wait to go back from summer vacation. He joined cub scouts (he told me he had been waiting his whole life to be old enough to join - LOL!) and they talked me into being his den leader. I swore to myself that I would never do it again, but how can I say no to that little face? Anyway....they keep me hopping. Twelve 7-yr-olds are quite a handful.
My oldest is a senior this fall. He is starting to look at colleges, but I think it's going to be a fight. He wants to go to a smaller private college, but my purse isn't that big. In fact, I'm not sure how much I'm going to be able to contribute at all. DH has finally gone back to steady hours at work, but the past couple years of uncertain hours has really taken a toll financially. How do you tell your 17-yr old that a $38,000 a year college isn't going to happen? Makes me feel like a terrible parent. I could use any suggestions you are willing to give on the whole college thing. This is my first time through and I'm dreading it already.
Anyway, how is everyone else? I've been keeping an eye and peeking in at the board during the last couple months, but I haven't really been ready to commit to coming back until now. Glad to see some familiar faces.....and lots of new ones!
