We don't usually have orka for T-day. But we have fried okra (or sometimes pronounced Oak-ree) all summer. Just like Fried Green Tomatos, and sweet tea.

I have a confession to make ... I have never had okra. In our neck of the woods we're known for chicken wings, not okra. Now I've traveled quite a bit and I've had collard greens and grits (also gator, escargot and something unknown at a restaurant in Chinatown) but I've never had okra. Ok, confession over, back to your regularly scheduled programming!
