Alright people, give me your best Girl names!

Rachel. :thumbsup2 Best name EVAH :rolleyes1

Not really Italian suggestions but our short list for a girl was

Anna Margaret
Annalyn
Amelia Margaret
Charlotte Amelia

And a bunch others I can't remember now for the life of me!!

Well, 80% of my town is Italian, and I didn't use any Italian names (well, except Anna, which is pretty ethnically broad) because my last name is very Italian. From the school directory:

Ava, Eva, Olivia, Daniella, Sophia, Isabella, Mia, Guilianna, Gianna (the last 2 are sisters), Alaina, Jenna, Gabriella, Julia, Adriana, Victoria, Deanna, Alyssa, Clementina, Alycia, Marlena, Alexandria...

Ava, Olivia, Sophia, Isabella, and Victoria seems to be plentiful, but not nearly as many as there are of Jennas and Julias! Several per page!

My youngest is named Anjolina..... I love her name!

My 2 older girls are Emily and Lydia....while I also love their names, I am still partial to my little one's!

Most of the people in my family are Italian with matching names. Several names are repeated, too. We have two named Truci.

Antoinetta (Toni for short)
Donna
Truci (this is short for something else but what?)
Ida
Sophia
Maria
Onorita
Aunette (which is made-up. Pronounced Aw-naugh-TAY)

And most of these have Maria as the second name. Or Jean to be named the female form of Gino after an ancestor.

:rotfl: I think it is lame that we started Americanizing things. My great grand-mom is Sophia and so it went: Sophia had Ida. Ida had Donna. Donna named me Dawn. WHAT IS SO ITALIAN about Dawn? NOTHING!

I work in a hospital and we have a fellow here who is actually from Italy, her name is Giovanna, which I think is a beautiful name! :goodvibes

When I was growing up, my best friend's mom's name was Genevieve; I always loved that name :lovestruc

That was the name of one of my aunts. It is beautiful!

I always liked the name Emily. Now my coworker's granddaughter is named "Emilia" which is the Italian way of saying/spelling it.

My DD's best friend's name is Margreta, I like it a lot but that's not very Italian. I looked up some Italian names and the ones I like are:

Adriana
Clarice
Lucia
Marietta
Martina
Silvia
Sophia
Sonia

ETA: I just looked up my own DD's name and it's Italian (well, Roman). Her name is Celia.

That's so funny ~ my Julia is the only one in her school of 900 students (K-12). LOL

If I was Italian I would pick a name that would have kicked @_ _ in Ancient Rome:
Octavia
Antonia
Lucretia

I also like Louisa (not necessarily Italian but sounds like it). That was my #1 pick for my daughter but it got shot down.

Sophia- is a lovely name but very overdone and over used.

Giana or Giovanna

I have a very good friend who is Italian. She has eight granddaughters and their names are:

Danielle
Alexa
Brianna
Isabella
Ava
Sophia
Veronica
Grace
