Already have a ressie___how to use new code ?

I have a ressie through DC for the CR, 2nd week of Oct. Anxiously awaiting the release of the new codes. When the new codes do come out and I call CRO do I say that I have a ressie,through DC, and give my confirmation #, or is it better to just call CRO, make the new ressie using the code and then call DC and cancel my existing ressie? Thanks , can't wait till codes come out.

Don't mention your existing reservation until the end. Treat it just like you're making your first reservation. If they say there's availability under the code for the resort and dates you want, THEN tell them about your other reservation. Depending on circumstances, they may or may not be able to transfer your deposit. Worse case is that the can't and will refund the first deposit and have you put down another deposit a new one.

And NEVER NEVER NEVER cancel the one you have before you get the one you want. Availability of discounted rooms in the CRO computers can change in the blink of an eye. What was in there two minutes ago could be gone when you go back for it.

I also have made a reservation throught DC and it is a package which I receive $75 off the retail rate. So I thought, when the new code is available, I would call DC, not CRO, to get the extra discount from DC on top of what it is offered to the general public.

Am I right or wrong?

Nope, you can't combine discounts with Disney under any scenario. You would have to decide which one is best for you in your situation and go with that one.
