Looking to book our hotel for our 2013 trip - any recent experiences with alpha rooms? I know wayneg has found them good in the past. They're not the cheapest but have heard of them :rotfl:

Using them again for our next trip. They were the cheapest by far, £37/nt everywhere else £60-70/nt for Fairfield Inn, Marriott Village. I was supposed to get 4% Quidco bringing it down to under £36/nt but it didn't track, just checked now and they are not on Quidco anymore.
Never had any problems with Alpharooms themselves but their relationship with cashback companies never seems good.

Yeh I did see they've been removed from Quidco. They are fairly reasonable for the hotel we want and our dates. Could get marginally cheaper by using clever-hotels.com but haven't heard of anyone who has used them so may stick with Alpharooms.

If you want to post dates, hotel and prices I don't mind having a search but Alpharooms are usually somewhere near the cheapest.

Never heard of Clever hotels, just had a look, they are part of a German company:
Navelar GmbH
Colonnaden 39
20354 Hamburg

Seem OK but I would rather go with a UK based company if prices are similar.

Thanks Wayne, I may PM you with dates and hotel. I've looked at hundreds of websites but the price differences are only £5-10 which isn't worth it really...

We have used Alpharooms to book our next trip in Jan 13 and have used them many times in the past.

They are usually pretty cheap! well for what we want anyways :confused3

Hi, I have used Alpharooms quite a few times, had one bad experience when I needed to cancel, took ages to get money back, even though I took out the cancellation cover. I think they are a good company to use, but if you make changes, thats when its a pain.
They are very good on price though, it's the main reason we keep booking through them:)

Thanks all, we booked! Flights and hotel all sorted for our trip now :thumbsup2

can I ask whom you got your flights with , looking for deals for May 2013. Don't mind if I have to go to London, as only option in Northern Ireland are United Airlines who have not bad prices to be honest - like to keep my options open :)

I fly with whoever is cheapest. They're all the same. Have done the transatlantic leg with Virgin, BA, Air Canada, Delta and American Airlines in the past, and used United, Jet Blue and SWA for domestic flighs. No difference between any of them. Just find a price you're willing to pay and hold out for a deal.
