Just had some yesterday. Amish peanut butter is peanut butter, fluff and maple syrup. It was delicious. I guess the Amish like it on pancakes, but it was great on toast.
It is TERRIFIC! We have an Amish home in our town that hosts meals by reservation and donation. They always serve their homemade PB with the meal. That is exactly what they told us was in it too. YUM!
I bought what they call Peanut Butter Schmear......probably the same thing, cause it's sweet. mixed with marshmallow fluff it is great with fruit as a dip or maybe Cool whip can't remember which one but both should be good
Kozmo the peanut butter I have came from an Amish town in Indiana. I see you are from Michigan. There are some Amish near Clare Michigan but I don't know if they sell it. You can always experiment and make your own. The consistancy of this jar is you can put it on a spoon and it will very slowly run off...not hard like regular peanut butter.
MosMom, yes fluff is the marshmallow creme you can buy. I think the brand here is by Kraft.
The Amish here in Lancaster County use molasses instead of maple syrup and call it Church Spread. It's served at lunch after the Sunday service. The recipe I have calls for 1 gallon each of fluff and molasses to 2 1/2 pounds of peanut butter! Mmmmmmmm!
