Hi all!

We are going to the Poly in April -- April 23 - 29th, and are beyond excited to be going! I'm not unrealistic re expecting that there will be no noise, but if a 3rd floor room has the potential to be less noisy than a 1st floor room, that's what I'd request (and I understand requests are never guaranteed). I just want to have the room be a place where she might be able to get some rest.

(PS: I stayed at the Poly for one night with my family in the 1970s -- I know, dates me.... I would guess it has changed a little.)

:welcome: I truly hope your vacation is magical as well as relaxing for you and your family. :goodvibes I think staying CL will be a great treat for you. :wizard:

As far as noise, you have gotten great advice and I hope you can decide which would suit your needs better. Also, make sure you discuss your needs with the Poly IPO because they may be able to really help you decide what location would be best for you and your family :thumbsup2

Just got back from Poly and was ordering in-room service and they surveyed me about two new items. Pizza and Sushi. I said yes to both. Word is they will be adding Pizza for sure, and perhaps adding Sushi for 2 on the in-room service menu. WHOA!!!!

Cool! Thanks for sharing :thumbsup2 I am sure the sushi lovers will like to hear that.

Here is one of my favorite pictures. Doesn't show much of the resort, it's more of the memory itself. February 2009 was quite cold and it was below freezing on a couple of the nights we were there. My wife and I were bundled up, but not our girls. They are swimming in the background. It just kept getting colder and windier as the sun set. :confused3 :rotfl:

I love that pic. Kids are crazy little buggers! At that temp I would be wrapped up like a burrito begging to go in the room! :lmao:

I was just telling DD how people here in Chicago get nutty when the sun comes out and it gets above 40 degrees. They act like it is summer :rolleyes1 It was about 46 and sunny here yesterday and people are wearing t-shirts and no jackets :scared1: On the flip side, if it was August and the temps dropped to 46 they would be bundled up like it was winter :rotfl:

Thanks for the pic johnsnet....as we continue our annual debate of booking GV or LV club level, I see pics like that and all of my sensibile reasoning to save the money go right out the door. :rolleyes1

Lastly, DD and I had a blast last night.:dance3: On another thread someone posted the numbers to the phone booths in England and we called it and the nicest family from Tennessee answered and we chatted for a long time!! It was their first trip to Disney ever so we gave them tons of tips and ideas. They were so excited to talk to us as we were to them :lovestruc It was so wonderful to hear their excitement and happiness. It put me in the best mood! :goodvibes

DD wants to call constantly now but I told her we would do it every once in a while as a pick me up when we are having a not so great day!

Happy Sunday everyone :flower3:

Isn't pizza on the menu now? Is was for years and years. Or maybe they will be adding flatbreads like Captain Cooks? I only ordered breakfast for my son this trip and didn't get the survey. What a great idea to add sushi!

johnsonet, ah....love that view.:cloud9:

spacy9 that would have been my sons in the pool when they were young.

Maxsmom...here are your pictures. BTW...they are beautiful :wizard:

third floor balcony has two chairs and a table! last time we went we put our desk pullout table and used the chairs that were out there to have a nice wishes room service meal! on the second floor in select buildings there is no balcony just a fake thing with patio doors! we dont mind either way! :cool1:

This sounds like pure heaven except I would be having my GOOD coffee by myself before getting everyone ready for RD:cloud9::cloud9::cloud9:

and me and DH can go out at night:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

Breezysmom -- I love the story about the phones! I had no idea they were even real!:rotfl: Glad you and your DD found some nice people to talk to and had fun last night!!!:goodvibes

yep, same here in Cleveland- temperature "feeling" is all relative. Right now 50 degrees feels WONDERFUL!!! We hit about 45 yesterday and I had my moonroof open, wore no jacket, etc. Soaked in the sun!! But come Sept, when we get our first 50 degree day - I'll be bundled up and moaning, LOL.

Swimming at 55, though, that's pretty brave. Now, a hot tub, that I could do!

I have a refillable mug question - Is the only place to refill the GCH? Or is there another spot by the ppol? How late is it open?

Quick question, If I board the monorail at the TTC to get to EPCOT, is there a place to buy coffee before I climb aboard? Are you allowed to take it on with you? Thanks, coffee is a MUST in the morning!:cool1:

There is a coffee stand at the TTC and as for taking it on the Monorail, in the past my family and I brought drinks onto it before and never had problems doing that.

I always bring my own coffee because I am very particular in this matter. I have in the bast filled my refillable mug with cream and emptied it into a container back at the room and put it in the fridge.

I want to know how they were able to swim when it was that cold out?

I have no idea. They were bound and determined to swim. They said the water was warm :scared1:

We were both bundled up. This is the only picture that my wife will let me post of her, what you can't see is that she is also wearing jeans and had pool towels wrapped around her to help keep her warm and we all had some hot chocolate in close reach from the CL :goodvibes

As long as the water is warm your good to go! I have a hot tub in backyard and use it all Winter long (I live in NH),I have my limits if its above 20 and not windy its all good and its more the wind then the temp.

This is a one of my favorites! It's my wife at the luau. With her happy face! with her "coconut head"! her first acquantance with a "coconut head" was On our first trip to Disney we stayed at the wilderness lodge, and went to typhoon lagoon. As we were leaving (after more than one "coconut head") she started singing "coconut head, I got a coconut head"!:rotfl: Each time we go now I have to find her a "coconut head". We now have five!

WE DID IT! We are going to stay TPVCL May 4-9!!!:banana:
I can't believe it. The nice thing about this trip is that we are only going to MK one day and the rest of our time will be at the POLY. I told my husband that I don't care about the parks this time(we were just there 1st week of December). I just want my POLY!!! Love all the pics, keep them coming!!

Oh how wonderful~ Enjoy your tiime!

I see you are in NMB. We have our summer home in Longs, right next door :wave2:

Sorry if these have been asked before. I did a search on this thread and retrieved similar rquestions, but not my exact questions;

1) Do ALL the rooms have a daybed? We would rather have our kids sleep in separate beds, so if this is not standard, we will request it.

2) Is there an email or fax number to send room requests? Or is there space in the online check-in to put in a request?

3) Last year we went to Beach Club and there was a group of ladies that put together games for the kids around the pool in the middle of the afternoon (I think starting around 3:00 pm or so?) I think they would do BINGO for a few bucks, there were also swim "competitions," name that tune, and other games. My DS loved these. Does Poly do the same thing? Is it every day? At approximately what time?
