Just 6 more days, and we'll be checking in again! :) The excitement is starting to really bubble over! I have a little of the guilties too, since my husb and I were there for 8 nights at the start of Dec. Part of me is saying we shouldn't be doing this, due to the expense, but the other part is just feeling so incredibly fortunate and excited to have this opportunity to go back again so soon. I just can't get enough of Mickey, Disney World and the Polynesian and all those happy, feel good feelings that come with all the planning and being there! I am so, so excited and appreciative!! :)

Ok fellow Poly lovers...

Should I keep the GV CL or go for the LV CL?

It's only a little bit more $$ and I really wouldn't mind facing the water.. :goodvibes

I have to admit that the view from there last year was very, very nice. :cloud9: It's a hard choice for us because of the $$$, but if your price difference is small, I'd go for it!

If you can swing it, do it. :thumbsup2 I was very envious when I left my GV CL room and saw people coming out of their LV rooms.

While the lounge was nice to hang out in to watch the ELP and fireworks and have some dessert and beverage, some nights I would have loved to hang in my PJ's and watch in the privacy of my room :cloud9:

I paid for a water view room last year at BC and never once regretted my decision! It was worth every penny!

The only reason I am doing garden view at the Poly is that was a comprimise with my husband who was leaning toward a moderate resort for this trip to save money.

upgrade, don't look back, and enjoy the views! and take lots of pics of your family enjoying the view as well!!! :goodvibes:goodvibes

I'll be at the poly in 30 hours. Can I get beer with breakfast at the concierge lounge?

Considering you're staying Concierge, I say it wouldn't hurt to ask a CM. The Concierge Lounge has a full kitchen attached so who knows what 'goodies' they have stored back there. ;) While I haven't had wine with breakfast since I did Mardi Gras in New Orleans a few years back, I know if I had the hankering for one I'd ask. :thumbsup2

Thank you! My kids have touches and I know they will be dead by the time we get there! lol

Yes, it's convenient to be able to charge using the clock radio, isn't it? FYI, I also picked up an Ipod charger for just over $20 (Canadian). You plug the iPod into the white USB thingee, plug that into the charger and plug into any electical outlet. It's small, too - less than 2 inches cubed. If I have to, I'll plug in at the airport too! I'll be with 3 guys with iPods, it'll be good to have another option.

Yes. It really is worth it. We left our curtains WIDE open the entire trip and I spent countless time staring out at the many sights (Cinderella's Castle, fireworks, Contemporary Resort, Grand Floridian, Wedding Pavilion, boats on the Seven Seas Lagoon, monorail...) I have stayed once in GV CL and once in LV CL. LV CL is beyond awesome.

I just realized I have to get my ADR's together. How did I miss that my 180 day is so close? :confused3

I have been laid up with the flu all week. I may need to take one more day of rest to figure this out ;)
Hope you feel better soon!

"only a little bit more"?? Definitely go for the lagoon view! :thumbsup2

We do the same thing! There's no way that I want to miss out on a moment of that view, so I always have the curtains wide open! LOVE falling asleep to the castle changing colors all night... :cloud9:

BreezysMom: Feel better soon!

Thanks johnsonet and SeaSpray! It was the view that finally did me in. I'm on hold right now changing my ressie. Even though I still need first floor, it will be so lovely to wake up and look out over that view!

And thanks to everyone else who "enabled" me to book LV CL! :thanks:

:rotfl: Glad to be of service! :lmao: Honestly, I don't think you'll regret it. Plus, the views from the first floor are lovely... the beach, the palm trees, the lagoon, and the castle!:cloud9:

If we are staying in a regular room at Poly and we arrive before our room is ready, is there somewhere we can we leave our bags, go to MK and have the bags sent to our room when it is ready? Does it cost anything (or is this where we would tip a bellman?) If so, how much?

Last year at the BC our room wasn't ready when we arrived, so we left our bags in the car and went to MK. It was a pain going out at midnight when we returned from the park and dragging them all in!

Yes, you can leave luggage with bell services. We usually tip about $1 a bag. When you get checked in, just call them and they will deliver them.

We also utilized a safe deposit box at the front desk to put DD's DS and other valuables I want to keep extra safe but did not want to drag around the park.

this is good info. We won't have luggage, as it will be delivered by DME, but if our room isn't ready we'll have a few back packs full of airplane stuff such as treats, DVD player, cameras, etc. Can you leave that with bell services or at the front desk? do you tip as you leave the stuff, then tip again when they're delivered? :confused3

We will be requesting turndown service (and I'm praying we get it!), and was wondering what you usually tip for this service and when and where do you normally leave the tip? I usually leave a tip daily for mousekeeping, and wasnt' sure what the protocol is for this?

We usually leave a tip for this (sometimes we can't if we haven't been back to the room that day). We generally leave it in another Mousekeeping envelope (printed at home) on the nightstand. DH puts the $$$ in, so I don't know how much, but I think it's a bit less than we leave for the morning Mousekeeping.

Yes you can leave all of your bags with Bell Services. They'll tag everything for you and give you the stubs. We always make sure to have a LOT of small bills with us, because we're always tipping left and right on vacation. LOL As to what you're "supposed" to do, I really don't know, but we do give them a few $$ when we leave our bags, and a few $$ when they retrieve them.
