Have you tried the OLP transportation wizard?
http://www.ourlaughingplace.com/asp/twiz.aspx

We are going there for Hoop-De-Doo and plan on taking the monorail to Magic Kingdom, then there is a boat that goes right to that area. Last year, we took the bus to Ft. Wilderness, then had to take a quick shuttle bus at the resort to get there.

I loved Mickey's BBQ. Food was OK but the character interaction on the dance floor was great for all of us, kids and adults! FYI -- Arrive 30 minutes before the show time -- I believe they start letting people in 30 minutes before and you can get your food, pick out a table, etc.....

A word of warning about that transportation wizard. It is out of date and also inaccurate. For instance, enter the Polynesian to Epcot. The first option it lists is bus but there is no bus from the Polynesian to Epcot. It also lists monorail, monorail to Epcot but we all know that is bad advice. The third option it gives is boat to GF and then monorail. Please!:rotfl:

It looks like DD7 might lose a tooth while we're at Disney. I posted about this, asking for tooth fairy suggestions in the family forum and a few people mentioned special gifts from the front desk at a couple of value resorts for lost teeth (a wooden tooth box? and a little stuffed Minnie). Has anyone had a lost tooth while staying at Poly? Did the front desk have anything special for your child? With Tink and her gang hanging around I'm thinking there might be something extra special from the TF when at WDW! ;)

DD lost her tooth at Disney! Not her first, it was like the 5th I think.

I don't know if the front desk does something. I never thought of that! We brought our tooth fairy pillow because we anticipated it happening there.

Magically the tooth fairy came to Disney pixiedust: But this time the tooth fairy left Disney Dollars instead of the typical "golden dollar" she usually left for the teeth that fell out at home ;) and a lot more "dollars" at that!

Thanks for the advice about the OLP wizard. Yes, there is no bus to Epcot. I appreciate any tips...

To get from the Poly to Epcot, isn't the monorail from TTC the best way to go? Or would you take the bus from the TTC? or some other way?

I also thought the monorail from TTC to Epcot was fast, isn't it only about 15 to 20 minutes?

Thanks.

Yes, I would say Poly to TTC (by walking) to Epcot is the best way to get to Epcot. It does take about 15 minutes (maybe even a little less) from the TTC to Epcot.

Thank you. That's awesome. We want to park hop between Epcot and MK some of the time. Thank you everyone for all your help! My friend said these forums would become addictive..... I'm so ready to leave in 7 days!!!

Yes, walking to the TTC and taking the monorail is the fastest way to Epcot. There is no bus from the TTC to Epcot. What I meant in my post was that the transportation wizard says to take one monorail (presumably the resort monorail) and then a second monorail to get to Epcot. It is faster to walk to the TTC and just hop the Epcot monorail there. Happy planning.:surfweb:

Our last gardenview room did have an Ipod dock.

Enjoy the anticipation those of you who are getting close. :goodvibes

Have a fabulous trip, Capt. Barbosa. :cool1:

Hey Guys! This is more of a what would you do question...

I booked the Polynesian Theme Park View bounceback (free dining offer) on my last trip. This trip is just going to be my husband and I. We have never actually been on a true vacation alone together. It seems like every time we book something someone else comes along for the fun. We got married this past March on a cruise ship, so we even had 14 people tagging along for our honeymoon! I am beyond excited that this trip will just be the two of us!

With all of that said I have gone back and forth on whether or not I want to keep this view or do one of the following...

A) Keep what we have.

B) Change the reservation to Garden View Club Level for a few dollars less.

C) Downgrade to Garden View and upgrade the dining plan to deluxe, so we would be able to take advantage of many of the 2 credit "nicer" dinners.

Any opinions from true Poly lovers would be appreciated!!!

Thanks so much!

Stacy

Hi Stacy!

Here's how I see it. I would personally rather pay for more days at Disney or nicer meals than a theme park view. For me GV at the Poly is perfect! And it gives us the extra $$ to do DxDDP, which we love! Since it's just the 2 of you on this vacation you could really enjoy some of those signature restaurants.

I know there are plenty that would disagree with me, but room view is one of my lowest priorities when it comes to Disney vacations.

I agree with lemondog. The room view is not high on my list either, since we spend so little time in the room. I had GV third floor marina side at Fuji last trip home & it was great.

Have a wonderful trip and a wonderful time planning. :tinker: Sending some pixie dust your way!
I find the anticipation amd planning is all part of the magic!

Not so sold on the DXDDP either - we were 6 adults. We had more than enough to eat with the regular DDP, even using 2 for the SOA dinner show.

Hi everyone! Quick question I hope you can help me with. We are staying at the Poly for NYE, and going to Cirque. What is the quickest way to get Downtown Disney??? Never done that exact route before, and time will be tight.

Thanks! :goodvibes

If time is tight, you may want to just grab a taxi. It takes a good hour by bus, sometimes more depending on other stops along the way.

Holy Cow! :scared1: Hadn't planned on an hour.... do we save any time by leaving from ticket and trans?
