That is wonderful!!! I am so happy for you. :cool1::banana::dance3:

Very, very cool! Lots of pixie dust that it happens! pixiedust:

:yay: I hope you get to go!!! :yay:

OMG, this is AWESOME! Sending lots of pixie dust your way that this happens! :wizard:

Thanks everyone! If we go in July it'll be over 2 years since we were there last, and I could *really* use this trip! We'd be taking our 2 sons, and possibly a couple of their friends. If they have friends join us, we'd have to get 2 rooms, so we'd probably just book garden view rooms and skip club level this time. I don't even care though, I'll be thrilled just to be back at the Polynesian. :cloud9:

Hi lissiesmum :wave2: and all my Poly friends :cutie: :cutie:

Yes, the docking stations charge your iPod AND allow you to play your music thru its speakers. You could even set the alarm to wake you up to your favorite Disney music thru your iPod :wizard:

Here's a pic from allears:

katiebelle21 - call Disney Reservations and add your room request to your reservation.

Is this standard in the polynesian rooms or is it necessary to call reservations to request it in the room?

The ihome charges your ipod in addition to playing your music on its speakers, and it is standard in the Poly rooms. Yay!:cool1:

When I made our reservation, I requested Fiji or Tokelau...after reviewing the posts on this board, I love the possiblility of staying in the Fiji on the Luau Cove side but Tikiman's website says that there is some noise from the Luau. Is the noise really too bad? We have three kids and who need their sleep (if they don't, it can be :scared1::scared1:), so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!!!!

Thanks for the Ipod info guys!!! Never had one to use before so I never paid much attention...:upsidedow

I don't think the noise would be loud enough to effect the kids sleeping...we stayed in Aotearoa-right near the walkway & we could hear the music when we were on the patio but not with the doors closed...

How do you make a room request? Do you just call the main Disney number or do you call the Poly directly?

Call Disney directly, not the Poly. They will put your request on the reservation. I think, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, if you are around 4 days out, you can put in a request directly to the Poly. Not sure where I read that.

I stayed in Tuvalu (which is closer to Luau Cove than Fiji is) when DD was 6 and there was hardly any noise. Our room was right at the end of Tuvalu where the beach starts. There was some but it just sounded like faint island 'music'. DD slept like a rock...as did I. :cloud9:

I may have missed this info. somewhere, but does anyone know if it is possible to request/ order balloons or something sent to our room since we are celebrating birthdays? On our last trip we were at Movies and I had mentioned to the CM at check-in that we were celebrating my mom's birthday and didn't think any more of it. A couple days later we returned and there was a mylar Minnie balloon and a card signed by Minnie for my mom. My DD was 100% convinced that Minnie had come and left it for her. I know she'd be thrilled to pieces if something was left for her.

We were in Fiji, Luau Cove side, for one night in May before we could get into our requested Tokelau. We could definitely hear the Luau. We were pretty tired after travel, so it did not affect our sleep. It was loud enough for me to mention to DH, though, that I was glad we wouldn't have to hear it every night. And I know we heard this with the door closed - we were on the 2nd floor with no balcony and never opened it I don't think.

Leaving on Saturday! Fingers crossed for Tahiti again-- LOVED our room last trip! I can almost smell the Kona coffee from here....

The only way to make sure you get something delivered is to order it from the Disney Florist. They put together all sorts of nice gifts, but they are quite pricey IMO. What you received before was a bit of pixie-dust, and you can't count on that happening again.:)

Hi
We are at the poly now and the weather is nice and warm. Anyone that calls
in a room request should call again to check it. I first called 7 days ahead of our reservations and was told to call back 5 days ahead . I did call and requested 3rd floor tokelau. When I checked in they had no record of my request so a very nice person named Tim told me to stay in the room given to me for 1 night and then he arranged for me to have the room we wanted.
I am sure we would be happy in any room but I do like how central Tokelau is.

Eric

Thanks for the info. I just checked out the Disney Florist and it is, as you said, pricey for what you get. Maybe I will just sneak something in myself.:confused3:)

That is what I did. I sent myself a box with and autograph book and pen and a Minnie Mouse Journal and Disney pin for her collection on line at the Disney Store and a few other treats I found at Walgreens.

After we checked in we went to explore the resort and I made an excuse to do back to the room and set up a Welcome Package from Mickey and Minnie. I found a nice card at the Hallmark Store and "signed" it from Mickey and Minnie. DD still talks about it.

All the items and shipping via UPS was half the price of what I would have spent using Disney Florist with twice the amount of items :thumbsup2

I hate to say it, but with the Celebration Theme they have going on, the little added Pixie Dust like you received that one time seem to be far and few between :confused3 They now use a fairly standard card signed by Characters and give you a pin. But when you do wear a celebration pin you get a lot of people saying congrats or happy birthday which is nice :)

OOOH, that would be jealousy you feel coming from me! ;) Love the Poly, and Tokelau is our favorite too! :thumbsup2

We will be staying at the Poly for the first time on 4/18 to 4/22!!! I was nervous because we stayed at the GF in May and loved it.

Any thoughts about requesting the Somoa Building Volcano Pool side? It seems pretty central between the pools and GCH.:confused3

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

We are staying at the poly for the first time very soon:). What is the best way to get to Cape May Cafe for an early breakfast? Thanks!
