Loving the pics, BreezysMom! :cloud9: Esp. love the shot of the Hawaii longhouse. It is so cool seeing it when you arrive 'home' from the boat launch and your 'home' is right there in view. :goodvibes

My family of four (DS 5 and DS 2) are booked for 7/18-7/26 @ the Poly. We are now thinking of bringing my 16 yr. old niece. So I have a question. If we add her to the reservation does the poly charge for a 5th person in the room even if she is not considered an adult? Also will we need to redo the whole reservation or can they just add her to our existing ressie? It would be nice to have the extra help but I need to know how much more it will cost. I know she will have to be added to the ddp and park tickets. By the way thanks to everyone for all the information. I can't wait to stay at the Poly for our first time.

The extra room charge doesn't happen until age 18, so you should be OK with that. They shouldn't make you change everything, just add one junior to your existing ressie. Congratulations on booking the Poly, and how nice to bring your niece! Sounds like a great vacation!

This is my first time posting on this thread & I have a bathroom question

Can someone tell me if any of the bathrooms have sinks outside of the toilet/shower area? Or is the bathroom just one big room? It is so much easier & more private when the sinks are on the outside.

Also, I read somewhere that some longhouses have 1 sink and some have 2....does anyone know which longhouses have 2 sinks?

Hello and welcome to the thread!!

The sinks are located inside the washroom and yes, it is just like one big room. So it's like the toilet, shower/tub & sinks all located in one room, with one door separating the washroom from the rest of the hotel room.

One Sinked Washrooms:
- Aotearoa
- Fiji
- Tuvalu
- Rarotonga
- Niue
- Samoa
- Tokelau

Double Sink Washrooms:
- Tahiti
- Rapa Nui

Please correct me if I am incorrect on the washroom sinks :)

Thanks! Tahiti is looking better & better to me ....since that longhouse has larger rooms AND 2 sinks. Of course...as I always tell my kids...."you'll get what you get & like it"!

I hope I gave you the correct information :)

We always request Tahiti when making our reservations. Never have we not gotten Tahiti (except once, when we got Fiji, but at that point - we had never stayed in Tahiti). Some people complain about the walking distance, but it is not that far away from the GCH at all.

Tahiti is a beautiful longhouse :)

o.k. I have been searching for an hour under the completed TR's thread and used the search thingy and still have yet to find a completed TR for a POLY stay:headache::headache::headache: Every TR has a stay anywhere else but the POLY...Then I did POLY Resort search even worse results....ugggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh

so if anyone here has a completed TR can you post your link so I can get my POLY fix:rotfl2: I really want to read some TR's of people who stayed at the POLY.

Can you help an addict out?

When you have stayed Tahiti, has it been GV or LV? I was just wondering because I read in Tikiman's site that the GV rooms there aren't his favorite.....but he loves the LV rooms. At this point, I haven't decided between the 2...

When I stayed at Tahiti, it has been in the Garden View room only. I have a different opinion on the Garden view room view than him. I guess I have been lucky to get good room views that have views of flowers and palm trees. Here is a picture of our room view from 2008.

I have never stayed in a LV room before, so i'm not sure about how good the room views in the LV rooms in the Tahiti longhouse are like.

We just returned from our first family trip to the Poly, and I will be doing a trip report, but I haven't started it yet. I will post a link here for anyone who wants to read. In the mean time, in addition to the other ones listed above, there is a link in my signature that is a report on a short trip my husband took in May and we stayed at the Poly. It was a couples trip and we had a fantastic time!:goodvibes

Also my DH and I remember the beds there being soooooo comfortable and we are hoping they are still the same?

Actually, we were just there the first week in February, and one of our dislikes was that we thought the beds were very uncomfortable. But, if you like a firm mattress, you should be happy. The sheets were like cardboard, too. Very stiff. We were in Fiji. I looked under the sheets and the mattresses looked brand new.

I agree. The beds are comfortable and I know they have been swapping out older ones for new ones recently. But the sheets are horribly noisy! When someone rolled over I felt like our neighbors could hear it :lmao:

Wow!
Those are gorgeous pictures of the Lagoon View room!
Maybe someday i'll be able to afford that view, but for the amount of time we stay at WDW, it's too much.

HI! Just wanted to say that I fell in love with the Poly this past Nov.
Got hubby to bounce back and cannot wait till next trip. My kids also loved the Poly. Everybody was wonderful and very friendly. :)

Try to do it at least once..you won't regret it. We did it last year and it was awesome. I had it booked again but it was just too much-I had booked LV-CL but just called and had them change it to GV-CL. Not quite ready to give up Club Level yet..they knew what they were doing when they upgraded me on my first stay at the Poly:rolleyes::lmao:..I'm spoiled rotten now!
