It's free! We used it on our phones, iPad and the kids iPods just over a month ago with no trouble. It wasn't quite as fast as home, but we were very happy to have it.

That's so AWESOME! My 2 boys will be so thrilled! They can't handle a week with no internet lol! Thanks for letting me know!

Hi,

We're going to the poly for the first time for marathon weekend. So excited! But we will be a wee bit disappointed if the Volcano pool is closed for renovations as has been rumored.

With less than a month to go, do you think there's a chance of a last minute announcement of pool closing? And yes, I know the weather may prevent a dip, but we're certainly going to try.

thanks.

The first year we went they closed the pool two days after we arrived. At first we were bummed, but they put us on a speedboat and took us to the Grand to use their pool. It was awesome and it all worked out. I hope if it is true you at least can get a day or two in. The Poly resort is wonderful.

Ok, it's been about 5 years since we've been to the Poly. Do the still give you a lei at check in? We have booked CL for March, if that matters.

If they don't do this anymore, do they have a service where you can order real leis? We are going for our 25 th anniversary so I would like a nice greeting for our special trip.

Thanks for any info! :)
For a special occasion, I would order a real flower lei. Just google for a company, there are many that will ship them. I can't recommend one personally, as I have never done it myself. Will ask some friends who have done this for a recommendation though and try to post it here when I hear back from them. :flower3:

We are there March 4-6 so I don't think any holidays are on at that time!
With the Hawaii building down for rehab, that means the rest of the resort will be busier with all those rooms out of commission. Also, many schools have their Spring Break starting in early March. Many colleges around the country, and even my dd's high school break starts March 7th. Many schools do not base their spring break around Easter at all.

basically, all of March is a school break holiday somewhere in the country!

.....we have mom who has mobility issues and we won't have her wheelchair until we move to Pop century the next day but it is 200 cheaper to come in the day before our trip. Besides if I have to pay it I would rather do it for Disney than Alaska air:dance3: So, what area is closest to the eating area and the monorail that I can request? Thanks for any advice.

Rates and crowd calendars down kick up to spring break levels until the 8th

My family and I are staying there in June. We have four kids, one who is still an infant, so it is our one and only chance without having to get two rooms! I hope we don't become addicted as we'll have to wait even longer between stays to afford two rooms! I'm hoping the refurb schedule is released soon so I know what to expect.

Now to my question: We reserved a TPV room. I'm guessing we'll get Tahiti. Can you really see well from the ground floor? Or is it better to be up higher? I'm thinking of requesting a patio for ease of letting the kids go out and play, but want the view to be the best it can be as well! Looking forward to the suggestions/recommendations! Thanks!

You can definitely see from the 1st floor Tahiti. There is huge lawn in front of Tahiti b/w the building & the beach. I think it would be ideal with little ones! We love love LIVE Tahiti TPV!!

Thanks for the info! So many decisions to make!

So excited! We are leaving the first half of our trip in the Keys and heading to the Poly. I will update when we get there.

Just back from the Poly yesterday. We had another great stay!! I just love it there! :lovestruc I will be doing a full review as soon as I get my pics loaded and mountains of laundry done!

What do u mean? crowds are low till the 8th?

We are there the 4-6 and crowds were a 4 last time I checked which seemed okay

I consider a 4 low, (comparatively to the rest of the month). After the 8th they go up to spring break levels. It's been a bit since I checked though. This is why we booked 2/28-3/8

We are here. Room request was granted with Tahiti 3rd floor. Since we had a little problem during our last trip, they surprised us with an upgrade to use the club level lounge. We are here now looking at the castle with a beautiful tree and sushi!

I would ask for Roratonga or Nuie first floor room. Roratonga is adjacent to the GCH which houses the monorail platform, check-in, restaurants, and shopping. Have fun :goodvibes

Oh good...I thought you meant it was going to be spring break levels while we are there!!

Looks like we are there the same time!! this is our first stay and I am so excited!!!! Cannot wait to surprise my girls Christmas morning!!!

Someone posted earlier about the Poly pool possibly being rehabbed in Jan., so I checked with my TA. She says nope, it's not on their website--she did list a number of other resort pools being done, but the Poly wasn't on there. So, that's a relief for me! Between Hawaii probably being out of commission (still no confirmation of that, btw)and the pool maybe down for the count, I was seriously considering changing to Beach Club.

From Tikiman's Facebook page:
I have heard some unconfirmed information that work on the Polynesian pool will wait until the Grand Floridian pool is finished. Also a new style hot tub design is going to be tested at another resort and if it goes well the design will be installed at the Polynesian later in the year. At this point I don't know how true any of this is but I thought I would share it.
