Just booked our first Poly stay August 15-24th 2013....soooooo excited!!! Will we ever want to stay anywhere else again??????
As I sit by my fireplace, happy to have the chill in the air today replaced by its warmth, and dreaming of our trip in about 7 1/2 months, I'm wondering how unbearable the heat & humidity will be mid July? We are planning only 1/2 day in MK; the rest of the time will be spent at the Pool (planning on getting a cabana), in the CL lounge and at restaurants.
We've never gone to WDW in July, but it's been pretty brutally hot in June.
Thanks.
We found the pool time a great balance. I suppose though when you only visit once or twice in a lifetime, those people want to make the most of their time. The benefit of visiting every year or a couple times a year is not feeling the need to spend every waking moment at a park.No. You will have a coffee brewer and that is the closest. Not being a coffee drinker I don't pay much attention to it but I think it brews a cup at a time. It may be able to heat your water for you though. The other option would be to request a microwave. Plus, the only other "kitchen" item that you will have in the room is a mini-fridge.
Even if there was a kettle, there would be no source of heat to boil the water with.
The "coffee makers" at the Poly are the pod type and will do a cup at a time. The coffee provided is Cuisinart brand. I have never used the pod system as I bring a hot water boiler and make my own real coffee. An immersion heater would work well to make water hot for tea.

Okay, if the Poly has the pod-type of coffee makers, can you make tea at all? Or hot water, say, for oatmeal? I'm a tea drinker, and I get up early, so I'd be looking for my caffeine fix at 5am or so. I'll have a refillable mug, but I'll be playign single parent to two kids (DD9, DS6), and I'm not keen on leaving them in the room alone while I head to the GCH...
Wrong use of word. I am thinking of the electric boiler like what most hotels have, not a traditional kettle.

No prob! Leaving in 12 hour!![]()

It would be our 1st time at the POLY and now I'm worried it won't happen ! It's too late (or perhaps too early) to call for reservations right now (3a.m.) ! How will I ever sleep worrying about this?! Can't wait for the morning to come so I can call.....
I was just reading some of the posts here a few pages back that tell me the POLY is renovating next spring ? I am currently booked for the end of next April at the POR and was considering switching our ressie to a POLY stay...is this going to be next to impossible at this point ?It would be our 1st time at the POLY and now I'm worried it won't happen ! Absolutely, just put water into it without the pods--it will make hot water. There are tea bags in the room and you simply process the water through into the pot.

Hey all! I am here to do a ticker dance with the creepy Elvis
It has been a long time since I have been on here but there is nothing like booking a new trip to cure PPDS (Post Poly Depression Syndrome)
I can't wait for F&W, MNSSHP, to see the new rooms and to party at the Poly with my adopted family!
I am looking forward to planning a great week with lots of new adventures with all the changes and opening of Fantasyland![]()

You may have a problem if you are trying to book a regular GV room under a discount. I know they have been scarce. I haven't been able to get one for April.
They only had GV CL or LV or MK view. I ended up taking a LV and even added an extra night !
The price difference is outrageous but what the heck...They told me rooms open up all the time,I can try for a garden view later, but at least I know I have a POLY room booked
our 1st stay here and I'm sooo excited ! DH doesn't know yet. I guess he'll find out when we board the Magical Express next April.
He really loves POR so I think he will learn to love the POLY even more ! When they give you a Lagoon view are there any specific buildings they have set aside for that? I would love a 1st floor and something close to the GCH...any special request I should make ? Thanks.
