Absolutely cannot wait for our first stay at the Poly in January! I am not at all worried about the pool construction. I have been researching longhouses, seems like there are a lot of options for a beautiful garden view that won't overlook the temporary messes. It's our first trip without the kids and our first runDisney event! It looks like the beach near the Luau show is unaffected by construction. Is this correct? Is it a good spot for the Water Parade? Also, can we get the POG juice at Kona or Captain Cook? We have done Ohana breakfast a couple times and my DH loves this juice! :)

From what I understand, posting the name of the agency on this forum is grounds for being banned.

Does anyone know the fax number for room requests? I have searched high and low and read many pages here and on various blogs but while I have seen many ideas on WHAT might be requested, I haven't found the fax number! I'm sure I'm just not looking in the right places, but I would so very much appreciate your help!

Thank you! 5 days :wizard:

I'm at the Poly now! Arrived today...my room was ready midday with my longhouse and floor requests!

Impressions...VERY nice CMs.

Heard a jackhammer once, but otherwise, the resort is very quiet and relaxing.

It's obvious there's a lot of construction going on with the walls and whatnot...and if I wanted to stay at a resort with full amenities, I'd be really disappointed.

But this trip, I am interested in room size, quick service food, and location (access to monorail). And I'm in a longhouse removed from the main construction, so I am loving it here!

People try not to kill the golden goose here. Read the forum and you'll find all the answers you need within 10 pages or less. Like all good things, you need to do some work.

I've booked my August trip for next year already. I will say that when I booked last year with the special, we got about the worst room possible. I think it was Aerotoa facing the street and monorail and the only garden view was to the left of the patio. Luckily, they were willing to move me to the other side where I could have had a view of the tree or to Fiji where I could look at the the cove beach. We took the Fiji room and we're much happier with the room.

This is always my 'fear' when booking outside of Disney directly. Sounds foolish... I know... but I always wondered if they 'favored' certain guests due to booking style/price point.

I wonder if because these are typically 'conference rate' rooms... if Disney just automatically assigns a 'group' long house... no matter the personal requests?

I'm happy to hear, when approached, Disney was able to accommodate you in a more preferable room. It's a subtle reminder that there's no harm in asking!

We've requested 'Fiji, King' and will keep our fingers crossed. I'd prefer to stay 'west' of the Marina and away from the Bungalows for a more enjoyable view from the luau cove beach :crazy2:

ok, what do i google though?

Just Google "agency exclusive offers". You'll know it when you see it.

I booked the magical deal for 10 days next August and the room was 55% off rack rates. Saved us $2650 for the stay.

This will be our first stay at the Polynesian as a family. I stayed there in the mid-70's as a teen.

Looking forward to our longest stay yet in just 302 days!

Martin

We stayed on the Magical Deal this past August, 4 nights at the YC & 5 at the Poly.
The conference rate rooms are actually "run of house" rooms, meaning you get whatever is available for your stay. There are many posts where Agency guests have been upgraded upon check in.

We booked standard rooms at both resorts. We had a 4th floor Lagoon View at the YC (the balcony aligned with the long boat dock where you catch the Friendship Boats) Best view in the Resort!
Our room at the Poly was in Aotearoa on the 3rd floor, we faced the Luau Beach & GF. Awesome!
We had requested 3rd floor Fiji which was full. We were told that since the construction began, Fiji is the most requested longhouse.

We chatted with a couple at the quiet pool one afternoon who were also there on the deal, they were in Rarotonga facing the quiet pool. So I'd say all long houses are up for grabs on the exclusive ;)

We NEVER use a TA-- But looked into the "deal" and they came in 30% lower for our trip over Memorial Day Weekend 2015. Plus they included free tickets to BB or TL. Needless to say we are now booked with the TA.

Thank you guys! This is all such great info. I don't know how I'm going to make it to next August...

August seems far away, but it will be here before you know it :goodvibes.

I'm hoping it's completed. Been tossing around the idea of that "Magical Deal" too. Haven't decided where to stay just yet. :surfweb:

You could always book the Poly now under that deal to lock into that great rate and cancel later if you decide to stay somewhere else :).

Have a great trip :wizard:.

I know someone already posted a number for you, but I wanted to mention that you should also call and have your requests noted on your reservation (if you haven't already). The only resorts that I know of that still accept faxes for room requests are POR and POFQ. There may be other resorts and the Poly might be one of them, but I know a lot of the resorts stopped taking faxed requests years ago and just throw them away when they come in.

Thanks for checking in, sounds like you're having a great time :dance3:.

Congrats, that it an awesome deal :thumbsup2. I snagged CL under the same deal at 45% off .

Exactly how I felt. We stayed there last August and I prefer making my own reservations. No way though I was going to turn down $189 per night at the Poly or a 9% rebate on our cruise fare by booking through Costco.

You all have me curious. I just requested a quote through a TA for our upcoming trip. I'm going to see if it's lower than the 30% off I expect to see at the end of April through Disney. I'm afraid though........:scared:

Does anyone know if with this deal if your tickets are linked to your magic bands or not? I'm just trying to figure out what is different between what my other TA can get and what I may be missing with a new agency. Thanks!

Everything is linked.

Yes, we did end up booking at the Poly. This will be our first stay there. It was really hard to pass up the "MAGICAL" deal. I really wanted to stay at the GF, but the party we are traveling with wanted to stay at the Poly. Hoping everything goes well. We couldn't request a room, but did ask for a third floor balcony. :wizard:
